Rutgers & NJ @ Heart
Losing (3) Seniors / Grad: Lewis, Daniels / Grier
Transfers: Foreman / Goode
"X" Factor": where in the world is Corey?

So we're down at least 5 and possibly 6 players.

Recruits: 1
Injured Returning: Diallo ; Doorson / Freeman (suspended???)

Possibly down two more players (suspension / status of Doorson's foot).

Seriously, I HOPE / PRAY that Piekell is ALL THAT....but without any renovations to facilities or new construction / a coach that has "STAIN" (whatever that is)....we're doomed. Please convince me I'm wrong....PLEASE!

So who will we have to fill the bench / extend to at least 9 players next year? On top of that
what talent level will they bring? I.e. if they are Corey Sanders good, we have a product that may
start turning this around. If not, we have as big a mess as Rice leaving to see Hill melting down at
a baseball game while Bannon has his team streaking naked across the diamond.

Rutgers: a history of futility....a future built on history.

HOPE I'M WRONG!

Chill man. Next year is irrelevant. Its all about hetting solid recruits next fall to start building. There are no shortcuts.

Not even if we provide 4 year degrees in Analytical Comic Books to star players online in 1 year?
Yeah, I know, UNC has already cornered the market on that one and who knows what Cuse is selling in the self reporting their infractions (did they had to give up late night texting / selfes for 6 months ?)

Read between the lines, he is open to bringing grad players in. Rather than waste four yrs on a frosh that will not cut it, we will use mercenaries next year, while he rights the ship.

Mo, when the season starts, we will have a full or nearly full roster. Long time yet till fall semester starts. Besides, those remaining from last season will benefit from better coaching and conditioning. Don't listen to all the groaners that wanted to keep EJ another year so they could search longer for a coach, or those who really, really wanted Bobby Hurley's brother or some other guy. They have agendas, and want us to fail. It is the nature of message board posters to be impatient and to fret. Ask yourself, do the AD and HC know what they are about? And wait before you start worrying. If we still have 7 or 8 guys in September and school has started, it will be time to worry. But not just yet.

It is NOT irrelevant. Please stop saying that. Pikeill will be in a much better recruiting position if we win 13 games vs. 7.

To the original posters question assuming no more losses and Cory coming back we will be fine.

Staters

Sanders
Johnson
Laurent
Freeman
Doorson

Bench

Williams
Diallo
Bullock
Thiam (Still Committed from what we have read)

How exactly will that happen with a depleted squad and the possibility that Sanders might not return?Long suffering fans have heard the same wishful thinking when prior new coaches started their tenure and we know how that turned out the past 25 years. There better be short cuts .

Thanks for a civil answer....and one that made me feel better.

NJ recruit = Bullock?

Also think Thiam is GONE, as is Tripp.

Expect the worst....hope for the best!

GO RUTGERS!

We are going with a three on three team next year

Next year is irrelevant.

This is easy to say now.

But I disagree, if we have another 7 win season, recruiting will be hurt, and any fan excitement over a new coach will be throttled also.

SP needs to fill the roster out as best he can, and try to win some games.

Next year is NOT irrelevant. I'm sure our Head Coach feels the same way. He has no intentions of losing.

This team isn't winning next year even if everyone returned. Goode's loss is irrelevant and Foreman's loss may cost us a couple of out of conference games because of depth issues (not talent).

We won 7 games with Sanders playing in the vast majority of games and our injuries probably only cost us a couple of wins since we were frequently blown out of the gym. I would love to see Sanders stay but he will be here one more year at best so his value to the rebuild is marginal.

We've certainly been here before and this is all about the long term. I feel a lot better with Hobbs/PickielI than I did with the disaster that was Hermann/Jordan. It would be nice to look forward to going to the RAC and expect the team to compete again since I could only stomach it about 3 or 4 times in the last couple of years. If Pickiell can somehow piece together 12 wins and a good spring recruiting class, I'll certainly be happy.
