Huge Multi Sports Training Facility Naming Rights Deal

Should have been done a long time ago. Kudos to Hobbs, it's great to have a competent AD. In the article it mentions that the total payout will be significantly greater than 10 million.

RWJ Barnabas is also going to invest in our medical school and bring it to the forefront.

"Industry insiders say that would put Rutgers Athletics as a leader among college athletics programs nationally in providing healthcare service to its student-athletes." - This is what we want to see .. this is what the Big Ten is about. We as a school, fit right in.

$10 million from a well known healthcare brand name is nice. Better than some unknown IT company. Then again I'm not a tech guy. But I am more familiar with RWJ St. Barnabas.

You have to imagine they'd also put some money in on a new Football center or even the other multiaport facilities. It looks like they are going all in.

This is in concert with the article I posted a few days ago about how being in the BIG has far reaching importance to RU and its medical research partnerships--we will become a national leader

A key component of the deal, according to multiple sources, is a plan for RWJBarnabas Health to take up residence in both the multisport facility and in the Hale Center, the Rutgers football team's headquarters attached to High Point Solutions Stadium.

What that means is Rutgers' 600-plus student-athletes will have unprecedented access to a team of specialty physicians and nutrition and wellness experts throughout the year.

Now that's what a recruit and his family want to hear!

Incredible.

I am so happy!

Many of us have been dreaming about this for so long.. so many years. It is finally happening.

While this is not directly related to football, football will benefit. The Hale Center will be Football only once Rutgers builds a home for the other sports there and it will get expanded.
Bubble will get replaced, etc.

Everything will be 1st class for all sports in due time. It is what they deserve.

I love the Big Ten

nice to HEAR! Hobbs really seems to have picked up and gone to the next level where Pernetti left off,and then we fell into the black hole known as the Julie Hermann days!
We did it! LMAO..
NEXT WE NEED TO UPGRADE THE RAC,INSIDE AND OUT AND GET SEATING UP TO 11K!

Next Up--the new 15,000 Hockey/Basketball Arena !!!!!!!!
Sorry but if we ever have hockey, they need their own arena. Look at Penn St as an example. Quinnipiac has a facility with separate basketball and hockey arenas. The hockey rink is High Point Solutions arena. I think it one of less than 6 dual arenas in the country.

Personally, if I was footing the bill for the naming rights I would insist that they name it "Huge Multi Sports Training Facility".

I have to get some kind of commission for that name. It's right in my thread title.

Section 124, I will take an exact copy of Wisconsin's Kohl Center, but will settle for two 12,500 seat arenas.

Man, this is absolutely fantastic!! -THANK YOU Pat Hobbs and, of course, Jim Delaney, (the founder of the feast if you will, 'cause without being part of the B1G we'd be stuck in limbo).

Things are finally beginning to trend in the direction we've all been hoping for and looking forward to! [thumb2]:100points:

I don't think so. The plan is to expand the football locker room in the Hale Center when the other teams move out of it.

That's correct. The idea is to build the lacrosse/soccer tennis facility, leaving Hale completely for the football team. It will be great for all parties involved.

The only question I have is what kind of surface will the lax/soccer stadium have. The lax team probably wants turf and the soccer team I am guessing wants grass. Grass if fine as long as the lax team can use it for every game. As it is, Yurcak was hardly used for lax until the end of the season, which is a very big sore spot for the Yurcak family.

Sargeant mentions in the comments that the total amount donated to Rutgers Athletics will be closer to $20 million then $10 million.

This is a huge deal.

I actually work for RWJBarnabas so I'm pretty happy!

From what I rather they will be building a second field adjacent to Yurchak that will be turf for the lacrosse teams and keep the grass for soccer. Lacrosse will still play big games in the stadium. Cali I fully expect you to fund to video board for the new field.

Still hoping for a $20 million deal for J&J stadium when the HPS contract expires. Maybe wishful thinking!

It's more than HPS paid for stadium right by $3.5 million. Can't wait until that deal expires.
OP thanks for posting. Did not see that. Great news.
