Things looking as bleak and ugly since the late 90s w Terry Shea. Difference then was season tickets were much cheaper and we didn't have as many season ticket holders. Ash and Hobbs are going to need to do some 'splainin' not to have mass desertions of season ticket holders as any turn around looks like it is pretty far off in the future. Fans have just lost interest, the worst thing of all.

ash needs to keep most of the recruiting class, then sell the recruiting class, once they sign. That's the biggest difference between today and yesteryear.

Why even post this on here? You are the one letting the doom and gloom linger on. We still have football games to play and a recruiting class to sign.

Too often I see people just posting bullshit on here just focusing on every negative almost hoping it happens Maybe it is the mentally of Rutgers to just be like this and we bring it upon ourselves.

Why dont we try and change all of that and be optimistic. I havent lost interest in the team because I support them and always will

Support and optimism are two different things. I've been supportive since 1975, I am not optimistic at this time based on what I see.

I've said the same in the past when people complain about complaining. You might not like it when people are complaining but if they complain at least they care. It's apathy that is worse, when you don't care anymore regardless.

I am excited to see Melton, Mitchell and Watts on this team. And hope the quarterbacks get better. We did win 8 games two years ago, hell Purdue last did that in 2007.

I think the team and coaches just zoned out yesterday. We did almost beat Iowa, who just beat Michigan, and we were competitive with Minnesota, Illinois, and Indiana. Seems like we zone out when we play teams with vastly superior talent. That can't happen again going forward. Maybe a different team will show up next week.

I'm far more excited to see them sign on LOI day…history tells us that might be a problem.

me too. 1974. and I can't take this anymore.

to answer the question above. I am not leaning into 6 tickets next year. I'll keep my "base 2" and have to decide if it is 0 or +2 of the 4 extra I bought when we joined the league. it will be no problem getting them back if I am still alive when (and IF ) we ever become a solid team again.

Zap, I used to fly in from San Diego every year for a week to watch consecutive games . I went to every bowl game. I watched at 9 in the morning out there and never missed a game. Flew Tastee subs in FedX to watch games out there
Now I wont drive from exit 8A to stomach this..

If the recruiting class holds, most people will keep their tickets for fear of losing out if the momentum continues. If the recruiting class does not hold up, people will assume things aren't going to be much better and feel pretty safe giving up their seats, thinking it will be no problem to come back at the first sign of life.

But the idea of suggesting someone is a bad person if he or she doesn't fork over hard-earned money to suffer for three-plus hours is just silly. If you have the means, you can support the program in other ways until your insides can handle Saturday afternoons -- or Friday nights.

I say we lose a few season tickets from those with multiple but we weren't expected to be good this year. Looks like a top 20-25ish class so there's some optimism. Many just enjoy the tailgating.

As I'm technically still homeless and not working yet I may need some flexibility on payment deadlines though the donation obviously by April 30th. If I can find the money and RU is flexible I'll renew. If not I'll purchase in the lot or stubhub at a discount and sit as close to my crew as possible. We already have one who does that.

I do this for fun. I don't take lavish vacations or play golf, I go to RU football games. This is quickly becoming "not fun". Being out of games in the 1st quarter while surrounded by classless a-holes from the visiting fanbase with no hope on the horizon of it getting better is not fun for anyone.

Going 2-10 and getting absolutley destroyed and embrassed in 4 games already is not going to bode well for next year. Throw in the Yankees Stadium game being forced upon Season ticketholders and this is a recipe for disaster. Unfortunately I think we see mass cancellations and a rebuilding of the fanbase in 2018 or 2019.

Losers ? Many view it as suckers.
The vast majority of us have shown up and been very loud at HPSS (and road games too).
Can't blame people; who donate dollars and time; for being frustrated that RU continues to hire inept, inexperienced Coaches on the staff. Does this Staff look like a B1G level to you ? Not even close yet.
Learning on the fly is no way to build a football program.

Contemplating dropping mine. I know you don't buy as an investment but really having trouble justifying the cost.

No games sellout. Half the games sell at major discounts on secondary markets. Heck some on here were even giving away free tickets for multiple games. Even RU after selling me my $50 ticket to Indiana was selling them for $17.66.

I can drop them. Still get to every game from tickets in secondary market, Park on the street next to stadium and thus save some dollars.

They really need to incentivize the season tickets a little more if you ask me (which no one did)

but then you did not see B1G opponents for the cheap tickets
Or pay for a game at Crappee Stadium. In a season when we only have 4 B1G home games and we decide to give one away. Sheer Genius.

Zap ,melton has both parents who are RU grads and Watts has the same situation. Lovett worried about him but this staff is I think better at recruiting than moron Flood.

so we should pay more to see us get the shit beat out of us every game? might as well try and get Alabama texas a&m and so on

No but we had ranked Miami and VTech in-conference, plus West Virginia and Boston College were in-conference back then and pretty good, plus we played Texas and Notre Dame OOC during the Shea Error.

Who on this board would not be all in for being loud and positive? Especially against PSU!
You have to have something to be loud and positive about once the game starts.

casual season ticket holders will be gone..lots of them..
Can't blame them especially if you only started in the last few years. After what they've seen this year, how can you be excited going forward.
Priority points don't matter to them so they can start over and not really lose much. Or get :BB season tickets and still keep some points. The older fans will probably stay on and let family use the tickets.
A 3 year rebuild would be a blessing and fans WOULD be happy if we became competitive along the way. Anything less is a downer for sure.
There is going to be a lot of questioning after the season and let's see how Ash and Hobbs explain things.

I gave Schiano time and I'll give Ash time. I'm not about to bash any coaching staff with the starting lineup we have.

Gave them up last year. People don't want to see blowout after blowout. Sorry.

Even if you try to sell them to the other teams fans the ticket broker fees are insane. It's not worth it.

I don't mind reading complaints and appreciate point-counterpoint dialogue. There's a different mentality on the WBB board, where hell is usually unleashed upon negative posters.

I'm the same, not a fan of censorship. As long as a person is "here's what I think here's why I think it" I'm good and then you have the back and forth. Everyone has an opinion if you can give your reasoning for it, I don't have issues with it myself. That's one of the points of the messageboard. Don't visit the WBB board much so don't kmow the mentality there.

Yeah I suck as an optimist
