Indiana is 4-0

And some of our so-called "fans" are wetting their pants about Rutgers possibly losing this game. smh. Are you smarter now because they are 4-0 today?

Youre the one with a pissy attitude. The Indiana game is a winnable game...always has been but its always been a tossup. The reality is our fans consistently show their ignorance when they proclaim us as being a better program than they are

Cuts both ways. Yes, we have some fans who somehow thought we would run through our schedule. We also have fans who think we won't win another game.

And some fans who relish the fact that we will lose the rest of our games. The same ones who will not play the transitive theory of wins-losses for Rutgers. Indiana's wins are not all that impressive.

I have a pissy attitude about all of the recycled garbage that is being posted over and over and over again. RU did not look like worldbeaters today. In the post game interviews of the players and the coaches, they acknowledged that they have a lot of stuff to clean up. But it seems that a lot of folks here are penciling in losses the rest of the way.

Um no. I don't relish paying taxes, but yet, I know I have to pay them. There is a difference.

Indiana fans, with excellent reason, smell blood in the water in the eastern part of our division, and see a bowl in their future, and who can blame them....

The Floodies OTOH actually think a team that lost to Wazzu, was blown out by TTFP, and looked worse than Memphis and SDSU against Kansas....will somehow beat Big Ten teams. Even Indiana is better than us, that is not relish, that is reality, there is a difference.

Indiana is winnable.

Maryland is winnable

Army is a win.

If you are of the belief that Flood's job security rests on performance, and the off the field stuff is in the rear view, he's going to be thinking about the Wazzou game a lot--probably from a golf course. Wazzou was his chance to get to 6.

When Indiana came here last year weren't they playing their 3rd string QB? While we beat them I thought their coach (Wilson?) did a nice job trying different things to keep them in the game. Of course having Tevin Coleman helped a great deal. Other than Army, nothing will be easy the rest of the way and if we are totally beaten up by the time we get to Army who knows.

From now to eternity, some of our fans will pencil in Indiana and Maryland as wins and PSU as a toss-up every year. Add in 4 sure wins OOC and we are bowl-bound forever. Lol!

Army lost to Fordham. And of the 3 academies, Army has become the program who's quality of depth becomes razor thin by the end of the year.

If we lose to Army, it's time, in the words of Gordan Ramsey, to "Shut it Down."

I guess some people wished they had Nova back? Nova wasn't that bad. We might not get another Nova for a couple of years. Nova won a few games with his arm even when the defense was terrible.

Indiana has the second best QB in the Big Ten with a 7-1 TD to INT RATIO while Laviano has a 6-5 TD to INT ratio.

Anybody who pencils in PSU as a toss-up is a moron.

That said, if we can't get to solid enough footing to pencil in Indiana as a win in 8 out of 10 years, we're all wasting our time here.

Maryland's football future fortunes are interesting. This UA money is a game changer. If they ever get the right coach, look out. We'll be staring up at them for a long time.

I'm looking forward to the Army and Maryland games. Probably our next wins and hopefully change will be in the air by that time.

and tell me where those wins are coming from wise sage...yes there are games right now you can pencil in as losses

Indiana 48 Southern Illinois 47
Indiana 36. Florida Intl. 22
Indiana 38. W Kentucky 35
Indiana 31. Wake Forest 24

PS- Nebraska is very winnable as well.

I am not penciling anything in for the rest of the season. I am not in the locker room or in practices. Several things have to happen for this team to win 3 or 4 more games. We need better performance on the OL and DL. We saw that yesterday, albeit against a weak opponent. We need Carroo back. The RBs have to be Hicks, Martin and James in that order. Yes, there are issues at QB, but I don't have enough information and observation to say Rettig should start, and that is unfortunate, because I do think Rettig should see the field a little bit each game and not just to hand the ball off. We need to clean up the penalties. The biggest guffaw yesterday was on our best DB, and I am not going to mock him for it. There's a lot of ifs on that list, and they can all get cleaned up. Will they? If board sentiment is an indication-no. I think some of them will, and I am not waving the white flag 4 games into the season.

Let's play the transitive victory game that people hate to play when it works in Rutgers favor:

Indiana 48 Southern Illinois 47 (An FCS team that lost to a 1-2 Southeast Missouri State)
Indiana 36. Florida Intl. 22 (FIU 2-2, with wins against NC Central and a lousy UCF)
Indiana 38. W Kentucky 35 (W. Kentucky looks to be a decent team)
Indiana 31. Wake Forest 24 (WF almost lost to Army)

Based on the above, we are going to roll Indiana because Knight Shift says so.[banana]

Some of our fans pencilled this game as a sure win a year ago

Reminds me of a just few years back when Kent St, Tulane and UConn were "can't lose" games. The 2015 RU team cant take anything for granted considering its locked into a broad cycle of demise on the field and off.

At least you took the time to look into the 4-0 unlike some who just take the record as gospel. WKU is the best team they played so far. Wake's other win was over Elon.

Let's see how Indiana does the next two weeks against OSU and PSU before we say they're "back".

Indiana gives up a lot of points. Please explain to me how this game isn't winnable. Just because some here have pressed the panick button, doesn't mean you have to find a new way every day to cry about it. We get it. We're struggling this year. But damn, some of you give up really fast. You're really soft

If Indiana beats just Rutgers and Maryland the rest of this season they are bowl eligible. Good motivation for them.

We need to beat both those teams + Army to salvage the season. Indiana has momentum right now. We're treading water going into the toughest part of our schedule.

From what I've seen on the field and the lack of adjustments made to date on the field, I wouldn't be too confident.

People here are terrible. Barring any more attrition from this team we will win the game. Just because they are 4-0 doesn't change who they are. Penn State in 3-1, do you honestly see them as a 9 win team this year?

Most of the points scored against Indiana were passing which isn't our strong point. Two games they held the other team below 100 yards rushing. This game is winnable but they will be favored by 5-7 points.

Did our defense improve this game or did they stop passing? I would say that any team that keeps on throwing on us will beat us.

I think we will be better that that, but we can debate that when the game comes. I like your post though, it is based on the matchups of our team vs. theirs, and that same point can be made if they are 4-0 or 1-3.

We won't know if it is reality for a few weeks.

You need to look at the schedules.

TTFP played all of its easy games aside from MD and Army. They have @ tOSU, MSU, and NW, no way they beat Michigan even at home, PLUS if even their most reasonable fans are likely not writing off even MD or Illinois at this point who they lost to last year.

Indiana OTOH went 4-0 OOC...between us, Purdue, TTFP and MD they are likely going to a bowl for the first time since 07.

Indiana is a better team than us. Mark it down, everyone else who plays TTFP aside from maybe Army will manage a TD against them. Indiana would have scored more against Kansas.

The only way we win a B1G game is to fire Flood and play Rettig, and our defense has to tackle....so we'll see.

You are in some serious denial about the ability of our team. Can we beat Indiana...yes..but to say with confidence we will is based on nothing but foolish optimism which is the same fooljsh optimism that led to people to predict 8-4/9-3 this year.

Anybody who predicted 9 wins for a team that lost as much as we did needs to have their meds adjusted.

Not saying people didn't, but they should have been dismissed out of hand.

I think you could have made a case for a high water mark of 8, with it uncertain if PSU would have ironed out their O-line issues and how far Harbough would have taken Michigan.

Post program implosions, I can see anywhere from 3-5. I think it would take a rather stunning upset of either Michigan or Nebraska to get to 6.

SDSU and Memphis played Kanas now apparently. Bot's hysterics know no bounds, including truth.
