Indiana is 4-0

IU does look good and what's most surprising is their D. I'd just like RU to play one of these top teams close. All these other teams play teams close so while I objectively think MSU will not be a win, I'd at least like to see us in a position where it's a meaningful game in the second half.

After we go 0-4 in October this board will be in unity heading into November.

Not so, Floodies are already laying the groundwork to blame Rossi only, say the suspension was unfair and arrests were not his fault, B1G too hard, GS left bare cupboard, etc

Was at the Indiana game this weekend. Sudfeld injured his ankle and even though Wilson says its minor, he had hurt his ankle the week before. Zander played almost the entire second half. Also, Jordan Howard got dinged up, limped off the field in the 1st half, thus, Devine Redding got almost all the carries in the second half. Redding's runs up the middle was disastrous for Indiana. Bosa played a really good game and Indiana kept on going to the same play over and over again without any success.

Cardale Jones did not look good. Toward the end of the game, he stopped throwing the football and he was also ineffective running. Indiana defense did a good job bottling him up. Might be time for the Buckeyes to start playing a new QB.

Rutgers - Indiana game in 2 weeks will be an interesting game.

RU's chances in that game will depend on how heathly Sudfeld is. If healthy it will be a long afternoon for Rutgers, but if not, there is a chance, although not a great chance as Indiana still has more overall weapons and Rutgers barely has a defense and a DIV 1A QB.

I would agree and add that I'm most concerned about Howard. What's interesting about Indiana's offense is even though they run an up tempo spread offense, they're a running team first. I've now watched Howard for 5 games and am very impressed. I thought there would be a big drop-off once Coleman left, however, Howard brings just as interesting and as effective running style to their offense.

Howard doesn't have world class speed and the break-away skills that Coleman possesses, however, he's more difficult to tackle. He's always moving forward and is a load to bring down. He's a wrecking machine. I'll take my chances with Devine Redding any day of the week.

Nuts, Indiana is lacking in depth they have played a cupcake schedule so far, they beat SEC champ Mizzou on the road last year then played a tough B10 team and lost their starting Qb, back-up Qb and best WR. IU is just snake bitten historically with injuries.
And so it was- Sudefield aggravated his ankle injury, Howard played two more times after initially injuring himself- the second time was just stupidity on the coaches part- but was a telling sign that they tried to get some yards out of him as the backup RB did little and then they had to run Diamonte to get yards. if these players are out- this game will be a toss up. Almost choked when the announcer said IU- could be a 8 or -9 win team.

My God I hope so but they put up 27 pts and 400+ yards - despite all the "dings" and whatnot - against the #14 D in the nation.

Take away Zander's 70+ yards scramble where the OSU defense lost containment outside and the numbers look somewhat different.

17/36 passing (less than 50% completion ratio) for 226 yards and approximately 100 yards rushing (excluding Zander's run). Redding averaged 1.5 yds./carry attempting the up the middle run over and over again without success, and Howard who had some carries hurt, averaged 2.4 yds./carry.

Indiana defense came to play (excluding the inability to contain Elliott on 3 long runs) and created a number of turnovers to put the offense in good shape.

No knock on Indiana who played a very emotional, hard fought game. Jones was not good and OSU is not getting good QB play. Indiana's true test will come this week in Happy Valley. Can they bounce back from an emotional loss on the road is the question.

Yeah I I don't believe in the "take away" play stuff - ever - they're a part of the game and it really doesn't matter if "containment broke down," or not, right? Unfortunately - again - this effort was against one of the nation's BEST D's while we have, let's just say, a not-so-good-one...

..so, they will be favored - Homecoming no less- probably by 7-10 points and, IMHO, we will have to play the best we've played this season, in all 3 phases of the game, to come away with the "W" here. Let's hope we start to see some "life," this week, that carries over to Bloomington.:pray::pray:

Last year, Indiana put up 473 yards on our defense with Coleman going for over 300 of those yards, and we still won by double digits. A lot will depend on how healthy Sudfeld and Howard are, and what happens next week with Indiana - Penn State and our game against Sparty. I like Diamont, especially when he rolls out, he just doesn't scare me at all.
