Injury report, ugh

Doesn't questionable men 50-50?

We're reaching the point of the season where questionables fill many team's reports.

OSU's big DT Shutt is out for at least 2 games with a broken wrist suffered Saturday.

I hate to say this but medically speaking, if Austin suffered a concussion he really should not be playing this week. This stinks because he's really been playing terrific and Jarius Adams just isn't ready. He was getting burned when he was in.

Yeah even the lowest grade concussion usually sits at least 1 week IIRC.

How do you know he suffered a concussion? Did his doctor share his notes with you? Let's not jump to conclusions.. jeez.

Questionable *typically means they will play.

Buckeyes will be without Schutt at DT and likely Perry at LB as well. Another LB, Kam Williams, is suspended for the first half after a targeting penalty against the State of Penn. Try to pound the middle.

Any reason to believe JT won't start? Would you say Saturday was the best game OSU has played? Who's a guy that may be a bit under the radar RU fans should keep an eye on.

Thanks in advance.

The only reason it's possible he won't start is because we all expected he would be named the starter for VA Tech, and then again after the Northern Illinois game. Yet both times Urban shocked us and rolled with Cardale. From what I hear, Cardale has been the better practice player, but at a certain point you have to go with the guy who performs on game day. Barrett clearly makes this offense more dangerous.

Curtis Samuel and Dontre Wilson have both been under the radar simply due to lack of touches. When you've got Elliott, Miller, Barrett, Thomas, Marshall and only one football it's tough to get everyone involved. But I think Curtis Samuel in particular is a player to watch out for. He's a phenomenal athlete and Urban raves about him every week, just hasn't had enough touches.

Agreed - any confirmation it was a concussion versus just being precautionary in the game. Both colleges and NFL are taking this concussion thing very seriously and seems like even if there is the slightest doubt many are holding players out. Not sure of circumstances here, but without facts hard to determine one way or the other. Also, questionable may mean OSU prepares for Austin, but in the end he may be a no go.

I think if Austin had a concussion he would've been ruled out, or could just be Flood not showing his hands, who knows. Either way if it's serious we're not going to risk the kid's long term health.

Didn't get to see the game live on TV, so had to follow on my phone, how did Adams look in coverage? Only saw the one play where he gave up the TD.

I wouldn't be surprised to see either JT or Cardale start. For all the hubbub, Cardale actually played a decent game against Maryland, though he was terrible Saturday. Urban did say today that he feels like JT is getting back into the groove he had last year and he missed the opportunity to win the job earlier in the year.

Dontre has a lingering foot issue and may not be 100% either. Samuel is definitely someone to watch out for, they just have to get him involved. At some point I feel like TE Nick Vannett is going to come into the picture and catch a couple TD passes. Might be this week.

Anyone who has a brain knows he suffered a concussion after being hit in the head twice once by their guy and once by our guy. We don't know severity that is for sure, although I would guess it was not mild.

Yeah ok...

So it makes sense for Rutgers to accept the ball for the 1st half kickoff if they win the coin toss. It's been a while since Rutgers hasn't elected to defer after winning the coin toss.

Listing newly-injured players as "questionable" for the next game is pretty much standard operating procedure these days. In RU's case, though, I'm not so sure this will exactly send OSU scurrying to revise their game plan for either their offense or defense.

Hester not listed... Anyone know what's up? I want to assume that's good, but who knows.
