Football INSTANT RECAP: Wisconsin rolls past Rutgers Football 42-7

All the good will and positivity that was built up with the 4-0 start and wins over VT and Washington, and getting props from College Game Day and other media is gone. A recurring GS theme is we get worse as the season progresses, other teams (Wisconsin) get better.
There were even a few pundits who thought we might be a bubble playoff team. That was a good one.

Folks, sprinkle it with pixie dust all you want, but Greg Schiano is simply not a good coach. He's a great recruiter, but other programs continue passing him. Good coaches can compete and win with less, bad coaches underachieve with even all the talent in the world.
Let’s see how he spins the post game presser.

550 yards total offense for Cheesecakes
Last two Rutgers home games against Washington and Wisconsin has allowed over 500 total yards .That kind of consistency isn't what fans want to see.

Or fan issue. Had a great run game last year but everyone wanted to throw it. Now we can’t run or throw it.

We just need an offensive minded head coach. I’ve said that for years. Until we get one our offensive struggles will prevail

These games where we have at least an expectation of competing and then play putrid/vomitous is getting old. This was supposed to be our year. If GS does nothing but coachspeak and not make major changes in the offensive coaches, we are doomed. No injuries excuse that level of incompetence.

It was our year because all the key players came back on D and an upgrade at QB. But all the key guys got hurt on D and the QB is not an upgrade. So Rutgers.

Again, you cannot excuse that level of incompetence in a D1 team for ANY reason, sorry. The defense is still solid, but the Offense is being headed by a multi-fired idiot.

The game reminded me of the pre Schiano days with Shea. I’m still a big supporter of GS, but they have to figure out how to improve the offense asap. You can’t beat anyone when your QB throws 12-32 for 103 yards at home. It’s not all AKs fault as there were a ton of drops.

Want a top flight program with offensive capabilites good enough to put Rutgers in the playoff picture most years
First of all RU needs to be willing to pay more then the going rate for the better P-4 candidates and show it will support him to bring in a HC that can make Rutgers an elite program.
Right now Schiano was the best Rutgers could get or someone else would have been hired.
Greg can build a good program, but a real good one might not be something he can bring to life.
We can complain all we ant after bad losses, but this program is still building and more than likely be a team that goes to minor bowls but not good enough for major bowl invites and by week 8 out of the playoff picture

I've stated before Greg isn't the best HC , but he's probably one of the better ones that would take the job with what Rutgers is willing to offer salary and support wise
Want to get a better HC and an offensive minded one, please tell the RU administration to pay top dollar and provide the type of support the elite programs give their Football Program
If Rutgers is willing to do that, Greg Schiano won't be needed and minor bowls will be replaced with playoff games because Rutgers was doing what it takes to be a top program .

This Wisconsin loos hurts, but it shows Rutgers is not an elite program or even a real goods one.
RU is a pretty good program that might become a good one under Greg, but don't expect Greg to make the team into one we can plan on going to major bowls.

I say let SChiano have 6 years to make RU a program that looks like it has playoff capabilities and if he can't hope RU will be willing to pay what it takes to bring in someone who can or Greg will be as good as it gets because the program won't get anyone better as long as it supports football like a middle of the pack outfit

Everyone brings up the drops but half of his completions are check downs for no yards. He is what his stat says he is.

He has 1 year left at $1.4MM after this. If we see a similar trainwreck vs. a lousy UCLA team next week, don’t let him board the plane to Los Angeles.
Jesus F C fellas..how dense can you be ? It ain’t the OC. It’s the philosophy and game planning the HC mandates.

Shelby’s been harping on this for all of 2.0. No QB or WR with FBS talent is coming here. They go places where they will be emphasized and productive. 2.0 is in over his head in this conference. It’s not about Ash, Gleeson, Ciarrocca, etc. it’s him. He can’t coach.

Wait wut? What does Schiano have to do with Ash or Gleeson?

Mildone can tell Shelby has a bad case of Schiano Pyschosis. You gonna blame him for inflation next?

Listened to it and it was bad. He didn’t answer a single question other than to say we will get it sorted out. I appreciate that he doesn’t throw people under the bus and he stays level headed. But he needs to state that he will hold coaches accountable and he needs to show some emotion. Because this team is starting to trend in the wrong direction, there is little to no emotion and urgency on the sidelines.

Nothing to get excited over for the fan base. This is bad game planning with little to no adjustments week to week leading to predictable play calls that lead to pressing mistakes and losses.

The only OCs that have not been abused by the fanbase in the past 40 years have been Kill and Freidgen
Jerry "stare at the sideline until the play clock hits zero" was abused by the fanbase, but not enough. Friedgen was the only OC who had any idea about coaching QBs and offense in general.

It absolutely is about the OC. He may not be whole story, but RU isn’t booting a HC off a season of progress and a 4-2 start (especially GS), albeit a shitty 2 weeks. The OC will always be the first under the microscope if an offense underperforms in a program with expectations. KC calls the plays and is paid handsomely to do so. Hes not absolved of responsibility, regardless of your feelings on GS.

And as for your mention of Ash, GS is the reason we’re not numb to days like today anymore.
