Mike Sharavjamts entered the portal today out of Dayton. Rutgers was one of 4 offers he had coming out of high school.

6'8 Forward who made the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team appearing in 32 games with 20 starts. Averaged 5.6 ppg

Could be a interesting pickup regardless of if Mag comes back or not. 3 years eligibility remaining

Going pro doesn't mean getting drafted. He can surely find a pro league closer to home with a roster spot for him.
Yeah I realize that but then what was the point of him coming over for 1 year in the first place. He should continue to play in college and develop his game the option to play pro oversees will always be there.

if he could help, grab him.
But expect him to try to go pro if he has a good year.
Consider him a one year rental.
If he does well, go pro ASAP
If he doesn't cut it, look for greener pastures after the season is over

He'd start on most B1G rosters today, wildly talented and skilled player.
Maybe, maybe not... His Dayton shooting stats seem a little bit comparable to Aundre Hyatt.. He shot about 1 percentage point higher from both the field and from 3 than Aundre (38.8% FG, 31.5% 3PT, 67.7% FT)... Averaged about half as many rebounds a game as Aundre did, had more turnovers (48 to 33) but had 3 times as many assists (83 to 27). (Aundre took a lot more shots, 286 to 165, and had a little more playing time, 784 min to 739 min.)

He and Mawot Mag played together at Prolific Prep during the 2019-2020 season. Sharavjamts will turn 21 in August, so he's a little older than most college freshmen are.

Agreed. Talented, good shooter and great passer. Watching him now, it's surprising he had so few offers and surprising how few ppg he scored this year. Maybe, if he finds the right place, he stays more than a year. I'd take him in a heartbeat.

I'd probably take him if we had the option to, but I'm not sure I'd sell the house to get him... He's talented, but his stats at Dayton weren't jaw dropping, and he got less and less playing time as the season went on.. Not sure why... But I realize that he was only a freshman (a 20 year old freshman). His game log for all his games this year is below. Many of Dayton's games last season can be seen in their entirety on youtube.

Exactly why can't he play overseas and continue to develop his game?

How come he only averaged 5 ppg?

I don't base anything on PPG, he missed games with injury and wasn't a full time starter as a freshman.

It takes about 1 to 2 minutes of game tape to see the skill and talent level.

To that point on PPG, Bobi Klintman, another former RU target, averaged around the same PPG at Wake Forest as a freshman last year and also was not a full time starter......he secured a NBA combine invitation after not starting at Wake and Wake not making the NCAAs.

The shooting, passing, handle and skill set of Mongolian Mike is 100% crystal clear when I watch him play. PPG only matters based on how many minutes you actually get to play.

The “funnest “ ( love that new word)thing about this site is watching Rutger’s fans clamor about every player who enters the portal . At the moment we are not in dire straits unless Mag, Cliff and Paul step aside. I’m certain Steve Piekell has a list and a preference for particular players . Just don’t think this kid is one of them.

Rutgers, Illinois, Cincinnati, KState, and Gonzaga says he's in high demand.
