If I wanted to tell you, I would have.
And did you see his idiotic statement where he admitted to it?
Oh I see. So the original post and thread title is purposely inflammatory based on knowledge of the situation personal to you, that you don't want to share. In that case, I would lean towards deleting the thread, as opposed to merely changing the title. Clearly the premise for the thread title is non-public information.
If I were the school, I would just release the full contents of the email. If Flood merely asked when the grade would be released, and it is the professor behind making this public, I would release the professor at the first opportunity for being underhanded and deceitful.
What Flood actually said in his statement was this per the NJ Advance Media article:
"Let me start by saying I'm disappointed at the tone of the article that (associate athletic director for media relations) Hasim (Phillips) showed me this morning," Flood said. "I've been the head coach now, this is going into my fourth season, and I've had a lot of interaction with the teachers on our campus. I think that that article not only insults my integrity, but insults the integrity of our faculty. I've come to realize that our faculty here at Rutgers is beyond reproach and I have a tremendous amount of respect for them."
Flood did not specifically address the investigation, but offered an explanation for his correspondence with a professor.
"Our faculty are part of our program," Flood said. "Just as recently as the other day, we had two faculty members at our practice. Now, any correspondence that I had with a professor in regard to a student-athlete would really be of this nature: One, to be in support of whatever decision that faculty member made, and two, to inquire as to whether or not there would be an opportunity to earn a better grade. Now, this practice is not unusual at Rutgers. Many students all over campus receive what are called 'T grades' (temporary grades) doing work outside of when the class ends that semester to earn a better grade."
Asking whether a student will have an opportunity to improve a grade is not asking a teacher to change a grade. It is merely asking if the grade is final, or if there is anything the student can still do that will have an impact.
I believe coach when he says that was the email contents. Therefore, this thread is ridiculous, and has no purpose unless or until someone shows that Flood is lying.
