Iowa Game Thread

Just like football: we need to get a lot bigger.
Nuts, where have you been? Our 3 bigs are hurt and out for the year. Outside Purdue with the 7 footers , the trend has been to play with only a 6 '9 center who is mobile and the 4 man becoming a stretch 4 shooting 3's. If we had our bigs the results would be different. A few more wins but definitely more competitive game to game.

Jok has improved dramatically on the defensive end this season. Last night was not indicative of how he's been playing lately on the defensive end.

He had a major knee injury in HS that took him from a top recruit to a marginal power conference player and he has said he's really only felt 100% since this past offseason. That's helped his quickness significantly. We'll see if last night became a trend of whether it was just one of those days. Obviously, he was pretty locked in offensively from the start.

We kind of gave him a quick 11 points with a bow tied. I believe DJ Foreman was guarding him. Didn't work out too good.

A few of those shots were right in front of me. I can't recall ever seeing a player so wide open during a stretch of halfcourt sets.

Stop already.
Lewis isn't a "big"?
And those three "bigs" you speak of weren't very good when they were healthy.
So we'd lose by forty instead of fifty

You can't say that because you don't know.

It must be almost impossible to practice given the state of the roster.

You can't push them too hard because they get worn out and if you can't practice hard and replicate game situations it's tough to get better.

Doorson was a frosh last year KBEE, we don't know how he would have played this year.

Lewis is a big but he has been playing hurt and even when not hurt is not mobile. Freeman was a scorer , rebounder, good passer and he could finish around the rim, something we sorely need. Doorson was a project last year but came on a little at the end of the year and I understand the staff expected a big improvement from his frosh to sophomore years. Your guess on the score sounds very pessimistic and the only way to prove you wrong if is if everybody comes back healthy with no transfers next year . If that happens I will take the 40 you are suggesting.
