Is Rutgers better than Seton Hall ? CERTAINLY this season

Why so (program)?
Because we have eyes and ears and a brain.

And anyone can tell that 50 mil a year from the big ten is better at sustaining sports programs than the whopping half dollar SHU receives from the big east.

You wanna know the program is better? Go look at their Harper thread where their fans lament the fact that their program isn't doing as well as ours. They literally say their program is in worse shape.

I enjoyed the rivalry but seton hall will eventually die off completely. They'll never make what they need to compete consistently from NIL to compete with the power 2 and they'll never get into a real conference without a football team.

But RU is 2-7 in the last 9 games vs SHU.

Pike has to start winning in this series, right?

The Hall owns us. No debate until we prove otherwise this year and going forward

I wouldn’t say they own us. In the last 5 games it’s 3-2 SHU with last year only being a 2 pt game. Prior to that SHU certainly owned us, but that’s like another lifetime

If you can’t answer it , it’s not clear cut.

At the moment , it’s a toss up on which program is better right now

Yes it is. Better program, but they have a better team than us. With the exception of Izzo, everyone in the Big Ten misses the tourney from time to time….because none of the programs are one and done destinations like Duke, KU and Kentucky. When you have to develop players, there will be ups and downs. We’re in a down year with a bunch of new guys.

We will get better. This team will be better in Feb and March than they are now - how much better is an open question.

I sure as heck hope we’re better in February and March. Otherwise a long season becomes a sad one.

Not in basketball . Last years final four had teams from the ACC, BIG East , mountain west and I don’t even know what conference Florida Atlantic is in

It just becomes a gap year. There’s way too much buzz and excitement around the program to be sad about anything.

It really wasn’t that long ago we were a perennial not even in the NIT.

Not sure who is better but Seton Hall’s guards concern me due to their size. Richmond is 6’6 and Wusu is very stocky. Simpson and fernandes aren’t big enough to guard them

You are a Seton Hall Troll.

There I answered it.

We have the better program and structure for the future. You may win a game.

This is a worthless thread

Yes of course, dumb question by the OP. Oh yes, and we’ll likely beat them in hoops more often going forward. 😉

Love Fernandeeeeeees handle, grittiness and shooting, but it’s rare to have success at 5’ 10”

After Georgetown though, he’s a fan favorite.

The Essex County J.C. Troll.

No need to get unhinged.
You’re usually better than this.

You haven’t even given any reasons how you came to your conclusion.

RU def has a major advantage with NIL.

Attendance is basically the same in recent seasons but The RAC gives a better home court advantage.

Here are other ways to compare two programs.

NCAA Tourney appearances the last 10 years ?

Head to head the last 10 years?

Coaching? Is there a huge advantage when comparing Pike vs Sha?

RU clearly has the much better recruiting class on paper.

Saturday night is a must win for both teams for this season.

I’ll assume you’ll be in attendance?

Toss up but like always, Rutgers ceiling is higher.

Coaching - even
Alumni Support - SHU
Facilities - RU
Administrative Support - RU
Historical Success - SHU
Head to Head - SHU
Current Talent - SHU
Future Talent - RU

Sure there are a few other things to include

Don’t think I agree on alumni support. We have a much larger, more affluent alumni base.

I know. Just messing with you.....

Wiith Pike and recruiting I think we are moving ahead as a program. Seton Hall was lucky to catch us early in the season last year. We also have an on campus arena soon to be upgraded.

I am honestly concerned with Sha since he loses his cool way too often like Howard at Michigan.
