Awful. Sadly, this type of "bunker mentality" (ie, code of silence applies no matter how heinous the acts of one of the group involved) - goes on in many realms including the military, police forces and other groups, but the fact that a university lets people get away with it as here is particularly loathesome.
The line at the end of the story with Butch telling his players not to talk to Boyles is sooo telling of his lowdown character, eerily similar to Franklin at Vandy.
This doesn't look good for UT. Doesn't appear like the Samaritan WR who was confronted was physically assaulted, but the confrontations confirmed by the players themselves created a "hostile" environment. Will be interesting how this plays out in the TN legal system. Also, if administrative cover up was blatant.....thatshouldn't go over well, either.
The JG ship sailed a long time ago. Respect the decision he made. At least he didn't go to a B1G east division rival like the other HS jerks.
I wish him well. I don't know what he wants to study, but I doubt he's as interesting overall as Tylin Oden.
That said, I am aware that UT's current QB Joshua Dobbs, is a rare aerospace engineering student as a QB. Impressive stuff.
If any coaches knew about this, as the lawsuit alleges, then this program should have PSU-level sanctions leveled against it.
Another example of how rape takes a back seat to football. It's the SEC so they'll probably just pay the victim out.
