Question on rules. Watching the replay this morning. Paul is bringing the ball up and he crosses the half court line backwards. Both of his feet are in the front court, but his dribble is in the backcourt. Is this a backcourt violation?

You have to complete cross with the ball first so if the ball never made it to the front court it can't be backcourt
