It was robbery: Omoruyi most likely transferring to Providence

This is OUR board. And some of us our very tired of you coming over here and trolling. All you do is insult us and talk down to us. Don't you have your own board?
Does an ant bother you if it happens to crawl over your foot? Don't waste thought on the inferior. He belongs to a basketball program that's destined to die in the modern college basketball landscape. Let him go out noisy if he wants to.

Maybe you should catch up on current events MSG just inked Big East to an extension reneging the Big in the process.

Providence was better than Rutgers. They will not be going forward. I probably wouldn't believe it if I was a Friars fan either but he will see. Providence would be a bottom feeder in the B1G. The Big Least sucked last year and the conference is getting worse

For the coming year they have Nova doing its thing and SHU peaking. Everyone else is garbage, particularly with the Hauser brothers transfers

While I will agree our conference sucked last year it will not be that way going forward. Conference was very young last year as was the Big the year b4. I guarantee you Providence will have a more successful year this year then Rutgers.

Oh wow such a cool story. So now the big east teams are making the same money or even half of what big ten teams make, right? No? Well that's fine, I'm sure playing in msg for the conference tourney has some massive significance that magically sets teams apart? What's that? It doesn't? Hmm..well I'm sure there's a relevant point SOMEWHERE in your statement? Oh...oh wait one moment, im being informed that's not the case.

Well then...I guess all I can say is "good for you!" [eyeroll]

Never said they would be making the money the Big does. All I was saying is they will not be going away as was implied in the other post.

There's little difference between going away and fading into irrelevance due to miniscule finances when compared with the rest of the power 5 teams. Things will simply continue getting worse/harder for you while the financial situation of our team and countless others flies past you. I mean do you seriously believe Cooley's extension protects him in any way from the big teams? Funnel all the money you want at him..it's not enough.

Truth is the basketball budgets are about the same (w/Prov spending a bit more the last time figures were released publicly) so the money coming in doesn't really matter...they don't have a football program to share/earn with obviously.

We don't have close to full share yet though..our basketball budget will change drastically going forward.

Maybe, maybe not. A lot of that seems to be negotiated already when you consider HC salary, AC salary pool, recruiting budget etc. Could change but even if it does you look at what Michigan State publicly releases and it's around 2-2.5 mil more than us.

Again this is only what's released publicly, but IMO there won't be a crazy drastic change, but it's definitely better being in the B1G than BE moving forward.

My guess would be our current budget already factors in the full B1G share considering the increase that already occurred from when EJ was head coach to when Pike took over.

Hey Friar. I would not say Providence was better than RU this past season. The Final Kenpom ratings had RU as # 78 in the country and Providence was # 79. Our strength of schedule was # 31 in the country and Providence's was only # 60. The BIG was so much of a tougher conference it wasn't even funny. I think you guys lost more off your roster than RU as well. I like RU's future outlook much more. We shall see.

So we are already better. Sweet! The gap will just widen from here

Could be knights1212 we did not have a good year this past year that I will agree with mostly due to youth. As far as what we lose only one guy who really contributed a lot Isaiah Jackson who will be replaced with incoming top 60 HS player Greg Gant. As long as we don't have any guys make any stupid decisions like declaring early or transfering we should he very strong the next two years.

Then maybe we will see you in the tournament and settle it there

Providence will likely have more wins because it's playing in a weaker conference. And losing to UMass at home puts you in a bit of a glass house throwing stones about our loss at Fordham, no? At least you took their best player after the season, I guess.

Season ticket holders who are watching game in and game out.....which you are....would probably conclude that.
It's such a mind boggler.why he left....but I'm sure we'll find out shortly his reasons and certainly to where he's going..which I thin it will be to a rather high profile school.....

Wherever he’s going Pike needs to schedule a game with them ASAP to replace the Canada game with. And let the young guns go to work

Funny, the attitude expressed here was very similar to mine when Todd Billet left. And most of you wished him well. Just wondering why this is different. We weren't that far away then, and we don't seem that far away now.

And as far as Providence goes, they have been in the postseason every year since 2013 (only two NITs), and in some of those years the Big East was pretty good, so knocking their program when we're Rutgers and people have had kids, watched them grow up and graduate college since our last NCAA game is just plain dumb. I think our future is bright, but Cooley doesn't exactly suck either.

I look forward to trashing several programs as we ascend, but Providence isn't really one of them. Much deeper hatred lies elsewhere.

Anyone remotely connected to the Big East is my mortal enemy. The Providence cyo mental midgets led the shithole league and screwed us at any opportunity. I’m so glad those dark days are far far behind us. Never forgive, never forget.
