I came over to this board to see what you guys had to say about my team, and all I see is negativity towards your own. It’s easy to do that when you are down by 20 at home, but trust me, it will get better. IU lost to two mid majors by 20 at home, yet I still believe Archie is our coach of the future.

I see a lot of parallels between IU’s team and Rutgers. Pike seems to be doing all he can. Your defense has been impressive. My guess is that Pike had prepared for a crappy shooting team and the players weren’t ready to adjust when some players hit a couple shots.

I know you guys want to bench the guys playing bad, but who is there to replace them? If Pikiell is a good coach, they’ll be running tomorrow. When the players mature and become less selfish, you guys will be on the NCAA bubble easy. A knockdown shooter could really help you guys, aswell as a good recruiting class.

Just remember you guys are on a one day turnaround. I’ve seen how detrimental that can be to a team. (look at our free throws) I hope the BIG moves the tourney back so we can have less. Can’t speak for RU but without these crazy turnarounds IU would have 2+ more wins. Good luck

Thanks for the sentiments, but we've heard them for two and a half decades.(last NCAA appearance) RU hasn't had a winning season in over 12 yrs.. We're all hoping Pike is the answer but it's all about recruiting and fact is most of the B1G is still out recruiting RU. It's just not easy to recruit here with our tradition of futility. But here's to praying.

Well you have to earn it. It’s hard to be good at recruiting when you’ve been down so long. You have Mathis coming in, so there’s a start. I heard you have a top 25 defense. If you can improve that to top 15 and get an average offense you are in the top 7 of the BIG, and in a good year a tourney team. I would bet money you make the NIT next year.

Nice thoughts but you’re Indiana. You hired the right guy and will be back very soon. I never thought much of Crean and thought he always underachieved.

We’re a program that has been neglected for decades. We also need the right guy. Hopefully, Pikiell is but it’s going to be a long road.

That was as a disgusting, lackadaisical performance by a D1 team I have ever witnessed as a long time season ticket holder. Left with 12 minutes left as I was losing my dinner watching it. Down 42-22 then and lost by 22 so I did not miss much. CYO basketball is better.

We almost beat #3 a few days ago and now we prostrate ourselves before a program that hasn't done crap since Bob Knight got tossed.I am numb.

Had a feeling we were going to come out flat. Two days earlier, Sanders put on a career performance and played 39 min. Baker played 38. The lack of depth really hurts on a short turnaround.

Was more surprised to see Freeman so out of sorts than to see Sanders/Baker struggle - was one of his worst efforts in the first half. This would have been a game where Omoruyi/Williams got leaned on more.

Missing two key guys, Eugene would have made Morgan work at least.

Venting is good to forget nightmare games. The problem with mens basketball has been that such games aren't isolated cases but more so a pattern of futility that previous coaching staffs have been unable to stop.Pikiell's tenure will be largely determined based on players that have yet to play for Rutgers.Recruits must be contributors right away instead of the current squad which has far too many project type players where you might be lucky to get one productive year out of a four year cycle.

MCordIUBB...thank you for the kind words.

Pike is the real deal.

Best of luck the remainder of the hoops season.

GTFO with that. They won the Big Ten regular season title and made the Sweet 16 two years ago.

We’d slice off our right nut to finish 7th in the conference and then get bounced in the first round of the NCAA.

MKord, thanks to the kind words. It's really painful but with Pikiell and some of the recruiting I do have realistic hope.

Pretty funny that our IU guest suggested that Pikiell would have the guys running at practice. Hey, friend, take a look at Bullock's waistband or how gassed Freeman looked. Sorry, but I don't understand how a coach can have a scholarship athlete in his program for more than a year and a half who is in as atrocious physical condition as Bullock. Is there any accountability or has Pikiell been waiting for Bullock to eat himself our of school?

Gee, thanks for raising your hand to demonstrate your ignorance. Or is it just your basic Rutgers arrogance to compare RU with a program with the following wins, beginning with the 2011-12 season:

27, 29, 17, 20, 27, 18

If that's crap, then I look forward to your one-word description of Rutgers over the same period.

Funny looks to me like we're sitting ahead of 3 teams and just behind 2 others:

Why do we only have 2 recruits on that listing? We have Mathis, Harper & Carter. It should be three.

We are playing Big Boy basketball. Moral victories are for the J.V. and freshman level of competition. "Almost" is not a part of Big Boy vernacular. "Almost" is reserved for horse shoes competition. "Almost" is second only to whining about officiating. Very weak. Almost girlish.

In basketball more than anything else I don't care that the rest of the big ten is perceived to be recruiting better than us. Baker and Eugene were duds as far as prospects when you compare their rank "to the rest of the big ten". Both are solid young starters. Imagine what pikiell does with higher rated guys (aka the guys coming in next year)

Oh wait a minute-----Tom Crean can't coach.
Do you have to be a jerk? My dad grew up around South Bend and naturally is a Notre Dame fan. It was passed on to me. Seeing you trash a team for absolutely no reason makes me need to remind myself that I’m cheering for the team, not you. Way to make people hate the ND fansbase. Leave the board you troll, and don’t go to BlueandGold either.

Dude-----calm down-----I didn't trash Tom Crean as a coach. I think he's a very good coach and probably next year he'll be working again.

It was a sarcastic comment in response to those on this board who trash coaches constantly----------Turgeon recently------Miles all summer----last year it was Pitino.

Your off base and you don't know what you're talking about.

Is this a joke? Bullock has been benched the entire year, and has only seen the floor since injuries left Pike with no choice but to play him.

Why do we only have 2 recruits on that listing? We have Mathis, Harper & Carter. It should be three.

Looking at it more closely, it doesn't look like the team ranking page aligns with the team pages. The ranking page lists PA St with a four-star and two three-stars, but when you click on their team page, it lists three three-stars. The ranking page lists Purdue with two four-stars and a three-star, but when you click on the team page it shows three three-stars.

Either something's screwy with their calculation logic, or the ranking page uses different data than their team pages.

Cabbage — what, do you think that Bullock has been in study hall instead of practices and off season conditioning programs for a year and a half? Starter or 12th man, no college basketball player should look like Bullock after 2-3 trips up and down the floor.

Not at all. I assume he is not doing what the coaches are telling him to.
