“Visiting with some of the (high school) coaches,” Williams said, “a lot of them always said there wasn’t a consistent (Rutgers) face that was going to be around. I’ve recruited that area before at other schools. I’m familiar with a lot of the coaches. I’m familiar with the area, so I think that helps.”

I'm not even going to say a word. They speak for themselves.

Williams would start out as just another face going through the turnstile. While familiar with the area I don't get the sense he has spent a lot time there while at Purdue and Kent State. Staff continuity is important. I think I read where the Northwestern staff has been intact for like the last five year which when you think about it, is probably a pretty long time for no changes. It would be interesting to do an analysis to see where we stand on staff turnover. My gut says it might on the high side. The OC position alone has been a revolving door!

This may be true but, on the other hand, it seems New Jersey High School coaches have an endless supply of excuses for not steering their kids to Rutgers.
I somewhat agree. Do you really think out of state schools visited more than RU? On the other hand, it would be a damn shame if we neglected them that much.

The previous regime did a very good job of not doing a good job, recruiting-wise, in this state.
