Jahvon Quinerly to Alabama.

And he is trying to get a waiver so that he can play in the 2019-2020 season.

Because his family was traumatized by the investigation relating to his recruitment. Can't make this stuff up.

His “close-knit” family must be over the trauma now since he chose to play 1000 miles from them.

I hope the kid doesn't get the waiver but the NCAA has completely screwed this up.

The Alaimo kid from St Joe's used the same excuse to try and get eligible for football here.

It's all a crock .

If he gets a waiver they just need to eliminate the sitting rule and create free agency. It would be a joke if he did.

It also is VERY important for him to get one he is pretty old for his year. He is already 20 as a transfer sophomore and will be 21 when he is eligible to play if the transfer rules mean anything. Clock is ticking.

Not sure specifically about black students, but I believe it has been stated that Rutgers has the most diverse student population of any state university in the country.
Yup, I'd definitely believe that the RU undergrad population is the most diverse of any state school. No doubt on that. It might not even be close.

For some reason thought you were joking for a second, but yeah... NJ is most diverse state in the country and RU is the most diverse school in the country. Believe Jersey City or Newark is the most diverse city

I think it's around 10 percent of the undergraduate population. What is it at Rutgers?

I visited Tuscaloosa several times and this is true. The undergraduate population at Alabama is very very white overall.

No it isn't
You're right..they can always use someone else to bring the rest of the bags onto the bus. This kid is gonna have a nothing career. He is nowhere close to interested in working hard. Failure tends to adhere to kids like that like a rancid stench.

As a footnote to nothing, Tuscaloosa is a very nice progressive city (granted it’s not Berkeley) and the campus is beautiful. The University has invested big bucks for scholarships to bring in out of state high achieving students. All in all not a bad place to go to school. The rest of the state outside of the BHM area, not to my taste. Birmingham is going through a much needed revival.

My niece is a recent graduate of UA and my brother’s brother in law is superintendent of schools there. His wife is a faculty member at UA. One of my brother’s nephews was on he football team beginning his career as an uninvited walk on and ending with a scholarship.

Will be going to my niece’s wedding in a few weeks. The reception will be in one of the party rooms overlooking the new and beautiful Birmingham Barons, named after the old Negro League team, minor league baseball stadium.

Deep South State U's have improved remarkably in the last 10-15 years.

Drew many faculty members from the Northeast with better money and a more reasonable cost of living.

One of my neighbors has a daughter at UGA-----loves it and could have gone to any number of the Patriot League type schools. I worked with several Auburn grads over the years and they had a tremendous feel for the place.

Athletics factors in no doubt------they say Clemson is becoming really difficult to get in as an out of state student. That wasn't the case 10 years ago.

Was told by a friend who is a retired teacher from Middletown that Middletown South this Fall will have 7 kids at Alabama.

I agree. Absolutely beautiful campus. I’ve been to half of the SEC campuses and UA is the most attractive I’ve seen, imo. The football money is evident . Not Stanford or Pepperdine, but the not far behind.

On the other hand, the basketball games are truly a non-event. The students barely know they exists and hardly anyone cares.

Since I just moved from California to Oregon here’s a heads up.

Stanford , Pepperdine, USC, CAL etc. are located in a state with fantastic state beaches , weather, Silicon Valle: opportunity: Los Angels,San Fran, San Diego, Santa Barbara , Laguna Beach,Monterey/ Big Sur,, Malibu.....

What does Alabama have besides covert and overt racism? And what do they have that compares to any of the sites / opportunities iin Ca? Answer: Nada!

Black or white I’ve never go to Alabama …cause when you leave the campus no matter how beautiful it is you’re still stuck in f'ing Alabama.

Just curious, is there a universal definition for quantifying "diversity?" I just did a quick Google search and found a dozen different formulas and a dozen wildly different rankings.
