Jamal Hunt Jr.

If he has good court vision, is quick laterally as well as straight line, can hit a shot when left open, can penetrate, and also be a harassing defender then no problem at all.

I hope we aren't seriously taking this kid. Jamal Hunt Jr. is in none of the databases and there is very limited info on him doing a Google search.

We might want to give Maishe Dailey a call and see if he wants to bring his 3 stars back to RU.

You are correct. Nothing wrong with a PG at 5 10 if he is fast and can penetrate.

I have no problems with a shorter pg. Is it preferrable, no. But we just hired a Coach who knows a lot more than us. Seems quick, can get to the paint, can pass. If its a shooting guard at 5 10, issues arise.

I trust Pikiell. He knows a lot more about basketball than I.

Most of us on here are under 6'0" point guards. Nothing wrong with that.

Most of us have never sniffed division 1 basketball, lol.

"Jamal Hunt is quietly one of the best shooters in the region. He is a player that must be paid attention to while he is on the floor"

Saw that on a quick twitter search.

Per Jeremy Schneider, he will be a walk on

Sounds like you are living in the past. Maybe taking a shot at those who criticized the offer list of Jordan recruits Dailey and Tripp.....time to move on.

None of this is even confirmed.....I just posted what I saw on Twitter

No, it was just very clear that this kid didn't warrant a 4 year scholarship.

And yes, I would take Dailey back in a heartbeat.

We have 2 commits right now for Class of 2016: Matt Bullock and Issa Thiam. Hopefully ,more to come soon.

Still have 4 ships to fill right now

He is walking on, so that is more like it. I love the fact that some of you thought it was ok to give this kid a 4 year scholarship.

No on this board offers 4 year scholarships, I just reported what I saw out there and his video. I did not do any research on him or his offers. If the staff had offered him a scholarship, I would have supported it. The same way I supported the offers for Daily and Tripp.....it's about what the staff wants for it's vision....not this board.

That's my point. I would not support an offer to this kid. He wants to walk-on fine, but not a scholarship offer.

We need to offer more talented players than that.

He did not get an offer, maybe he'll get the chance to earn one. Maybe this gets the staff tied in with his Philly AAU team....could be a smart move.

Undersized guards are a big problem on defense because opponents will post up the smaller defender.I don't think Villanova had a starter smaller than 6' 3'' which is the prototype for successful basketball programs.Scholarships are precious and should be given out wisely during this transition period.

If any kid is RU material off the court (5'10") can still play in the new system and is a proven shooter, we should consider them. Even with a new staff, if we can't score it still equals losing. You can only fix shooting so much or every guy would be a 90 percent foul shooter. I can understand a big man having a more difficult time transitioning from HS because now the defense is as tall as him. I don't understand how guards lose their jump shot. If you can shoot in HS, you should be able to shoot anywhere ! Apparently, we get the exception to the rule guys - almost all the time. Just look at the first two rounds of March Madness and the type shooters other teams recruit and they all perform really well. We can teach the other things as long as the talent level is there.

Lol, if you want to opine that this kid should get a scholarship offer, then go for it.
This kid is doing us a favor by walking on for us..he's a decent player considering walk on status. If I were this kid and read this thread, regardless of the point you're trying to make, I'd want to deliver you a big "**** you" personally.
