This kid is doing us a favor by walking on for us..he's a decent player considering walk on status. If I were this kid and read this thread, regardless of the point you're trying to make, I'd want to deliver you a big "**** you" personally.
Don't let this guy get to you. If he had his druthers Ed would still be on the job.
Next year this board will overreact when Jamal decides to turn pro and go into a panic mode [winking]I want walk ons to help the team during practices by simulating opponents. I don't see us playing many 5'10" guards in the B1G.
Now with that said, watch, he'll beat out Sanders as a starter and make 1st team B1G. :)
Yeah, don't let me get to you...lol. I can have an opinion as much as the next guy. I do welcome him...as a walk on.
Not a BIG playerHunt's a walk on and glad to have him.
But would have wondered how good he is, if he was offered, with the lack of info out there about him.
Except that your opinion is that nobody except you are allowed to have a correct opinion about any recruit when the truth is, like the most of us, all you have is Google. Sorry but I've asked you specific questions about recruits and you literally just spout off lines from an Internet article. Stop acting like you know how good these kids are. We've seen it here many times in the past, where people pretend to be amateur recruiting experts, and you're just repeating history again.
I think of Tim Hardaway who at 5'10" had a long and very successful NBA career. And there have been others. He is the kid I think of every time an undersized guard is talked about. Linehan was a total pest on defense, changed the game, he was that tough.
OK guy lol. Point is posters were analyzing his game to justify him being our next offer which was laughable. Its pretty clear that he is a walk on and I am thankful for his contribution.
+1 ) Welcome Sir Jamal, glad you decided to become a Scarlet Knight [thumb2]Welcome Jamal! Thank you for walking on and contributing your talents and time to making our program better. Enjoy your time at Rutgers!
i remember Jon linehan from Providence. Don't think he could shoot and wasn't 6' but he was very effective
...why are you calling our walk on some kid just seeking attention? He's going to Rutgers...that's all that matters.Read the article by 24/7 that he hasn't even spoke to coach Pikiell yet and usually the head coach offers PWO spots based on recommendation of the staff so is he really a preferred walk on or a kid seeking some attention and is just going to go out when the team holds walkon tryouts which are required by the school even though they don't take anyone. Batie is the only kid who was selected in recent years. Just very confused about this situation.

Why is everyone mentioning his height? I started the thread and all I said was, " I don't think Rutgers needs a 5 10 PG. I said that because we already have 3 guards 6'2" and under. My preference is that we get some taller guards, like 6'4 and 6'5 guys with length and long arms on the roster. I'll take 6'6" Maishe Dailey.....when he closes out on a shooter he can alter shots. A Big problem last year was 4 guards under 6'3 closing out on shooters.
No one said a 5 10" PG could not be very good in college.
So basically you'll take him if he is a 5'10" version of Steph Curry? If he has good court vision, is quick laterally as well as straight line, can hit a shot when left open, can penetrate, and also be a harassing defender then no problem at all.
I think Seth Curry can do a little more than that, don't you?So basically you'll take him if he is a 5'10" version of Steph Curry?
Seth Curry can't, but Steph Curry can.I think Seth Curry can do a little more than that, don't you?
