Though football is a team sport, I can see now how one player can make a tremendous difference.

We have not scored since he has been out.

We have no offense, defense and special teams since he has been out. Though he does not play defense, he gave us ball possession so the defense can rest.

The good news is that you don't need a lot of players to turn this around.

The bad news is we have to find players like Grant.

In other news, the sky is blue, we need oxygen to live and the Earth revolves around the sun.

It is a great indictment of Kyle Fudd that the state of our receiving corps is so weak. From Britt and underwood to sanu and carroo and even some TEs we had a long uninterrupted string of nfl caliber receivers on the team, sometimes simultaneously. Today our roster is quite depleted...

Remember how the team fell apart after the Eric LeGrand injury...One player can certainly affect the team's psychology...

Just think how valuable he will be to us next year if he gets the redshirt. Him along with hopefully Ahmir Mitchell and Jawuan Harris should help us out alot.

And Harrison and Coleman and even Pratt was very serviceable

No doubt the loss was huge but the loss of one player should not cripple a team the way it did to us. Good programs develop well balanced teams where all positions are equally important. Remember we still struggled even with Grant.

Injuries happen. They happen to every team. We need to deal with it like the rest of the sport does.

There is immediate playing time available for those who commit and grab it by the ****y.

Grant is a playmaker for sure but not really a great WR, situations and specials more his thing. Sadly this team lacks playmakers. We have zero weapons so teams can stack the box and shut down our avg running game. Teams know we have no QB or WRs. Uggg

I actually think Patton is an OK WR. Harris is a good but young WR.

Grant however is on another level. So yeah, it was a kick in the gut.

On the bright side, if he comes back next year that could speed this turnaround up tremendously.

HARRISON WAS SERVICEABLE?? THE GUY HAD ROCK FOR HANDS...I will never forget that wide open throw to him in the Louisville game (maybe nova's sophomore year)that would have won it...AND HE JUST DROPPED IT!@!!!!!

You joke, but that's a difference between an ordinary blowout and the program crippling viral story that happened on Saturday.

True - but its also true that when RU rises from the ashes like a Scarlet phoenix the 80 pt whipping will underline the drama lol

He had 800 yards and 9 touchdowns as a sophomore so yes I'd say that's very servicable

lol @ "program crippling"....it's pretty much over with already and nobody outside of Piscataway will care by Saturday. Hasn't hurt recruiting, either, as some here claimed it would.

Total indictment of Flood.

We lose 1 guy and the offense goes full stop.

We don't get a week of bad national press for losing 60-7. Maybe program humiliating would have been a better phras.

The issue I have is them force feeding Harris who yes might have the speed and acceleration of Grant, he has no where the same amount of elusiveness and agility.

Grant's ability to make people miss, and just be shifty all around really masked how bad the OL was.

Most valuable ..kid flat out won games we would have never won

100% agree but he is a ST superstar. Would he be a starting WR in 2007?

I hate when some people make crazy bold statements because to correct them, it seems you are knocking the player discussed. He may be one of the most valuable to any of our teams but not one of our best ever.

Huge loss as an outstanding kick returner and game changer on special teams without doubt. Does anyone know how many TD's Grant scored while playing on offense?

Fail. We scored in the second half after he was out

That's what I get for missing attending that game for a vacation! I saw the highlights of Grant's huge run and catch and assumed we must have scored after that. ;)
