I'm not sure if it's been discussed, but why didn't we offer this guy? If I'm right, I'm believe he was a 2014 guy. Another mind boggling decision by Flood

Because Flood wanted to go 1-0 by getting guys no one ever heard of and let everyone from NJ go away

Not really. You really think he did not want higher rated recruits? C'mon. The guy was bad at recruiting but your statement is silly. He tried, did well with verbals and then they all bailed when the ridiculous losses and other issues started. It's that simple.

Historically, NJ players with offers from Rutgers and Sandusky State, sadly, pick Sandusky State. It hurts. Does not matter that Flood overlooked Cabinda.

Well for a coach who cheated on the regular, you would think he would know how to get recruits to come. I mean he basically assured them that they would not get kicked off for smoking weed and failing classes.

This is true for ND too.

Even those who were considered "special" according to Schiano were not coming once the caller ID said University Park or South Bend. Hopefully this will change over time but there are some who will always want to go away and want to go away to those schools.

One of those "it is what it is" type of things.

Cabinda wasn't deemed to have enough lateral quickness early on, then his senior season he improved and Penn St got in first, and RU never recovered . Staff completely blew it with Cabinda's junior year evaluation.

It was Flood. He didn't hmthunk he was good enough. Meanwhile, sadexcuse tried to hold on to him, while he initially wanted to come here, and when the staff finally were interested he told flood to gfh.

I believe that Cabinda was originally a Cuse commit but then switched to PSU once he got their offer. I may not have been Cuse though. I thought that the knock on him was he was a tweener, not really a LB but not big enough to be a DL.

Your post is just full of silliness. Doubt he would sell the drug test aspect.

The recruits do not care about Sandusky and JoPa. Nor apparently do their parents priests rabbis [LOL] mentors coaches and peers. They care about history, winning, preparing for Sundays and playing in a program that does not shoot itself in the ass at least one a year. We have no stain. No brand. No history. A merry go round of offensive coordinators .What is it that we have to offer besides a mid level stadium and a state fan base that prefers the Giants and Eagles .As horrible as the Sandusky incident was it is fading from the news cycle and does not have anything to do with the here and now on LOI day. I am not a troll ,although I am not particularly good looking and I love Rutgers but I am sick of the unwillingness of our fan bsse here to accept the reality of who we are and who we are not
Deal with it!

Thank you

He was a Cuse commit. He did not show any interest to RU even when he was a Cuse commit. Some kids just want to get away. In addition, he really has developed a whole lot in terms of size and ability since his Jr year in HS. He single handedly beat Manalapan in our house his Sr year for the title but he was already a PSU commit and at that time. We had Blacknall who did not do much in that game and I remember thinking we got the wrong kid. We ended up losing Blacknall and they both are doing pretty well now.

I'd just like to get another Hunterdon County kid in my lifetime. Please Ash, win a bit and stake your claim. Way too many culties out here.

Cabinda never had an RU offer, Committed to Cuse which at the time was his only P5 offer. When PSU offered he jumped ship for PSU. May have done that anyway even if he got an offer from RU,
