"Joe Paterno has been cast in a negative light," the letter writer, former tight end/punter Brian Masella, told ESPN, "

And a well deserved negative light.

What's amazing is that the people trying to get the statue back up are just making things worse. Now we're going to relive the whole thing over again. What's really amazing is that they're demanding an apology.

This. Move on already.

Knowing full well what happen, those people are just pure evil. No other way to decribe anyone who thinks that brutally raping kids and or covering it up is ok and no big deal.

The Government should get a copy of that list and put them all on watch. No one is safe around anyone who thinks like that.

Why do we have to move on? This is a story about horrible people who hurt children and horrible people are trying to rewrite history. This story should never be forgotten. From all accounts it seems Joe Paterno was a self serving animal, no better then that filthy animal Sandusky. Melt that effing statue already.

I seriously thought a rivalry with pen st would have been awesome. But now I want absolutely nothing to do with them. What a disgrace.

I understand what you're saying but I think it makes a rivalry deeper knowing that the majority of the tools wearing their paraphernalia are cold and evil at heart. Not something you simply convince yourself of one Saturday a year in the spirit of rivalry but knowing that they are, at their core, terrible, terrible humans.

Ultimately Good vs. Evil.

What makes it better is just how righteous they have always felt they are with their stupid slogans and looking down their nose upon everyone else.

My hate for them has kept me warm when it's cold long before Sandusky. Now I can actually break a sweat from doing nothing but willing them to lose on Saturdays in the Fall.

The more I think about it the more I agree with ruready07 - having a rivalry is great, but this goes way beyond competition. Absolutely disgusting, and have no interest in having anything to do with them - at this point I wish we could just cut ties.

and the fans who keep defending what happen and think it was no big deal, those are the evil ones.
Yes, but that is not just a few outliers. Every alumni voted member of their governing board is a card carrying denier and cultist. All the folks that voted for them are not just a few internet crackpots. All the alums that did not vote for someone reasonable are also part of the problem.

To be fair, I do not think all Penn State fans are evil anymore than all Catholics are evil.

Only the ones that did it and were part of the cover up and the fans who keep defending what happen and think it was no big deal, those are the evil ones. That is true for both cases.
On the other hand, if you are a good person you should wash your hands as far as cheering for PSU goes.
I can understand having a PSU degree, but choosing to cheer for the school after what has come out is inexcusable IMHO

What ever happened to the sealed docs that were supposed to be opened?

I believe it was the Philly Inquirer who moved to have them unsealed and the motion was granted. If there's anything interesting in there, no doubt it will be published.
