Jon Lewis #16 dual threat QB according to QBhitlist :

Can we also get

Tua Tagovailoa
  • Dual Threat Quarterback

The #16 dual threat QB is going to be our savior? Keep dreaming guys.
YES HE IS. He is the perfect QB for this system, other NJ recruits have and will follow him to RU. and most importantly, he is the best big game QB I have seen coming out of HS since Teel, a stat that is immeasurable.

Great point. He doesn't wilt under pressure. In fact, he's just the opposite. His play improves when the going gets tough.

The kid at Notre Dame...Wimbush....was the best I've seen...period.
And let's not forget that for most of the recruiting process he was "committed" to Pedd St.
I've learned this lesson very painfully, but I'm not celebrating any recruits until they sign in February.

Please stop all the recruiting drama. This is not 2013 again. Most of the commits know the deal. Help is coming. Show some patience!

And look what happened to Wimbush. Late switch and he sits at Notre Lame. Could have been a star here...

Question is does he sign. The RBs were giving signals, haven't seen anything from him either way. Clark seems to be pretty firm.

The RB's were "giving signals" for a long time. Not a single other current commit - NOT ONE - has given a single "signal" since committing. Lewis, like Clark, has been the complete opposite actually and tweeted as much following the "BuckIGan" disaster that he wasn't going anywhere else.

Do you realize how ignorant you sound? There is literally very little difference between the fourth best dual threat QB and Lewis at 16. It's not an exact science, but they're giving Lewis 4 stars. So, yes, he may just be the real deal.

Given our present situation wouldn't we be happy with #56 if he could run the offense. If a guy get us first downs, go get him. Little things for starters. Really hope that Lewis is the answer.
We thought Oden would jump in if needed and because of the learning curve and strength issues, that hasn't worked out. As we seem to continuously learn, the pieces don't fall into place.

I'm praying he honors his verbal.
Nothing has suggested otherwise. So far we've lost one player to Wisconsin which he's had his eye on since before we even offered cause he liked them growing up and one guy probably to Penn state cause his gf is a freshman there..isolated incidents.

Two VERY outstanding points that should be pinned to the top of this board and shoved down the throats of the sky is falling crowd.

All you need to do to show this kid what he's coming to is show him the clips of healthy Gio sprinting for yards, and throwing touchdowns.

You show him Lewis that film, and you tell him, "We know you can do this. And we know you can do this against Ohio State. And we will make. That. Happen. On national TV. Still in?"

He should add sorely needed competition to the QB spot, where hopefully Gio, Oden, and Laviano will step up, some how..

Also, does Dare have a chance of ever seeing the field?

Lamar Jackson was like 15th...Lewis and Jackson are two differently people, but give him a chance.

Best thing about Lewis is that he's coachable...he's improved a lot from a year ago
Bobby Petrino is one of the best offensive minds in the country, and Louisville actually blocks people. They also develop talent there. We'll see if this staff can do the same.

You usually sit when you redshirt

Hhis job next year. He'll start for 3 years.

Joe Montana wouldn't be a "star" here the last 2 seasons.

So, you pretty much failed in both directions.

Back to Lewis, he is a big game player and has a big arm. He will move the pile on runs and has the ability to break free. Right now, his touch and not throwing everything 110 mph is what he needs to work on. He is coachable and SPP runs a very similar system. And he is close enough to campus to pop in over the off-season (if that is still allowed).

I think that Savage might be the best QB we ever recruited. And if he is as good as advertised, I would glady take the #15 best dual threat QB in the country. We could compete with that. Where would you rank Laviono? I would put Laviono as the worst spread option QB in the country by far. I like Gio but he seems like a short term solution.

I'll guess we will have to wait and see about Wimbush.

Gio looked pretty good when he wasn't hurt, maybe star-like?

The most important thing about Lewis is that he's physically ready to contribute. This isn't a situation like Odin where he's too skinny or doesn't have the arm.

He'll step on campus and into the QB room with the best arm strength and best strength/frame of the bunch - and that edge will be significant. He has D1 tools that need cultivation - not physical development.

Oden is a decent runner but a horrendous passer. I don't even know if he can get better at that. He should move to WR. Lewis actually can throw and isn't built like a point guard.
