I know many will say who cares but others will be interested. I was curious and looked up how he's doing at UMass through 8 games. He appears to be playing great at 10.6 ppg, 5.3 rebounds, 2 assists, 85% free throws, 56% FG shooting, and 42% from 3, including a strong game against UNLV. Just didn't hit it off with Pike I guess, and this current roster doesn't really need him.

Player GP MIN PPG RPG APG SPG BPG TPG FG% FT% 3P%
Jonathan Laurent 8 26.3 10.6 5.3 1.9 0.5 0.3 1.6 .556 .850 .421

He always seemed talented. I hear he didn't exactly like to put in the level of work Pike requires.

He had defensive lapses. He also thrived scoring under Eddie when forced to play the 4 in that year with all the injuries. As a wing in year 1 under Pike it wasn't happening for whatever reason.

Saw Umass on TV and didn’t realize why the name seemed familiar. Then it hit me.

Completely forgot he was here

Not sure what kind of offense UMass plays, but, I think he would fit better in a fast-paced offense.

he showed potential while here. no bad feelings when a kid leaves under those circumstances. good for him. those numbers would be helpful but not certain they would even translate to this team. we don't play them at this point.

He doesn't have wing skills for this level.

He just wasn't good enough for this level to turn in consistently good performances. I always thought that the B1G was too high for him.

Very happy that Jonathan found the right fit. He'll do well for Coach McCall

Brings back putrid memories of Eddie's team's uninspired and poorly coached play.

Saw him play vs Nevada 1-2 weeks ago and UMass' stye seemed to be up and down so it's more up Laurent's alley. Not very talented kid but he hustles
