That's some tough talk from a keyboard commando who is probably fat and lazy and only gets exercise when he goes for another bag of chips.
So the general anger at Hermann has nothing to do with her sexuality or something to do with it?
I suspect it is a combination of sexuality and gender. I have yet to hear any actual explanation of why she was so terrible and the hatred was strong from the day she was hired.
I don't have any anger towards Hermann at all and, in fact, I was surprised she was fired. I thought she was doing a pretty good job. Although I haven't seen the investigation report.
Surely there are homophobic people here. But I suspect they are relatively few in numbers. But Bacs joke (if he was joking) was not disparaging or negative towards lesbians in any way. It was meaningless sexual innuendo. Not homophobia.
South Park makes it's living off jokes that are politically incorrect. And it's one the funniest shows out there.

Sooo... You have never heard that the search firm hired to find out next AD had a short list and JH was not on it... But Sweeny inserted her name very late... and it appears she was never properly veted because the volleyball issues never came up and she was hired and then we caught all kinds of hell because she had to disappear to avoid discussing her own background while trying to recover from the whole mike Rice thing and every other thing that has popped up...
You really think Sweeny was the right person to hand pick an AD at this level?
You really think JH's first hiring of a football coach is aa sure thing?
The only reason the sexual preference of those involved matters is if it was instrumental in making the hire and if that hire fails. Other than that I don't think anyone here gives a damn.
So you're saying when it came time to vote on the AD, Barchi checked Julie's box
her sexuality had nothing to do with her lying on numerous occasions and her utter failure at being a respected and effective ambassador for RU
The explanation is obvious, she didn't use he box the way some RU fans expected her to.

Honestly, I laugh my way through the day most days. I laugh and joke my way through business meetings. To quote my favorite book (Straight Man by Richard Russo), I lack high seriousness (among many other things, I'm sure).
FIFY. I give anyone credit who takes the job considering past history.
I just reread the story of how McCormick and the BOG caved to Star Ledger pressure and fired Bob Mulcahy. He's the Moe Greene of athletic directors. There should be a statue outside the Hale Center commemorating what he did.
Then there is Tim Pernetti. Whether you like who he hired or not, he got thrown under the bus just like Uncle Bob. Remember, Uncle Bob said he told McCormick about the marketing company that paid part of Greg's salary, but McCormick said he did not remember hearing that. Similarly, Tim gave Barchi the Mike Rice DVD, but he did not watch it.
So, there is undoubtedly some residual anger towards Julie Hermann, the flawed hiring process, her many issues that were not brought to light during the hiring process when we were looking for an AD to clean up a mess. Then there was the subsequent way she dealt with one of the issues, first, the wedding video that contradicted her denials. Then there was the Eric Legrand graduation speech debacle, the Tyree phone call incident, the Sandusky joke, the statement to a class that former Rutgers football players in the NFL do not give back enough to Rutgers, and other various embarrassing quips that caused Barchi to hide her away from public view, not allowing the AD to do the job the AD was hired to do--manage athletics. So maybe there is residual anger that Julie Hermann was kept in place as long as she was.
So, Julie Hermann is gone, and a certain poster wonders why people are poking fun at the person who is chiefly responsible for her being hired, especially when she takes a prominent place at the men's BB game where our new AD makes his first public appearance at Rutgers?
And please professor, we don't need a lecture from you.
go find 1 single thread/post where I ever posted a comment about her sexual choice or anger/hatred towards her. Go ahead. I too was surprised she was fired and I was neutral at best on the subject regarding her.
you're right on one thing though. kinda hard to make a joke about a GUY'S box. loses a little something there. So gender certainly played into the humor. [eyeroll]
Wow.. I did not realize JH was canned too. Now I wonder if she was ever given permission to fire Flood because it seems Flood took her down with him... but if she had the power to fire Flood and chose not to... well, that settled her fate.
See, now that's more getting into the spirit of things! Although the fat thing is two years out of date, and that was only because my liver was failing. Turned out all I needed was lots of Lasix and a new liver. Well, that and to retrain all my atrophied muscles to work again afterwards.
And we have no one to blame but our inept administration for letting that happen
IIRC, she was properly vetted but Sweeney refused to accept or present findings. The fix was in.

Was touch and go for a while, came damn near dying but the folks at Hahnemann saved my life. 12 hours on the table, 80 transfusions, and an emergency dialysis later, it's a miracle I'm still here, LOL. God must have something for me to do, that's for sure...

You got the same reaction I got when I used the term AD's Box last year. I immediately switched to suite.
