Kristian Dyer outs person who leaked info

These anonymous sources need to start being outed and made examples of. This will hopefully give pause to potential rats and prevent future leaks detrimental to the university. As previously stated, the person wrongfully disclosed information regarding an ongoing university investigation and there needs to be consequences.

What is wrong with some of you? Give me the name give me the name, now now now
The poster said it is easy to figure out who it is if you are on the Rutgers staff, not that he knew. Yes, KD knows but he will keep that info to himself.

Btw- I understand from others that KD still posts here...you all just don't know who it is

At least we know yesrutgers01 passed reading comprehension. Thanks Yes!! I don't know KD from a hole in the wall but it seems like he initiated a story about the disgruntled mole. The story is begging for a follow up. KD has no obligation to protect the mole, it's a story and reporters tell stories. I highly doubt KD keeps it to himself. The amount of information he shared already signals that he found out who it was without having to break confidence.

I hope he publishes the guys name ASAP.

So, if "it is easy to figure out who it is if you are on the Rutgers staff" it would seem that everybody that this person works with is coming to know exactly who they are and what they did.

- it has to be getting mighty awkward - people generally are disgusted when they encounter gratuitous & selfish vindictive sabotage - and the person who did it must be sensing that the walls are closing in.

Rob- how does everyone know how much rah person makes at any workplace or of emails sent. How do most criminals get caught. People don't know how to keep their mouths shut

I would think there would be numerous people who fit this description.
You really think there are numerous people who work in university admin on athletic matters who recently got rejected for an AD job?

"But the hot water might be cooling off a bit says one source, who said the popular Rutgers head coach will not lose his job."[banana]
Duh. It was an imaginary scandal in the first place. No one who read any of the details could think that more than a slap on the wrist would occur, unless their only source was NJ.com headlines.

How do we have so many rats in the athletic department? I can't think of any other school or company where people are trying to bring the ship down from the inside.

The person could have heard a rumor and then went running to SL. they most likely never saw the email or anything like that.

Zap

From what I remember the Ledger always liked Campy better than your Dad (lol). Maybe it's time for the museum to get a wee bit chilly with those scoundrels on the sports page and NJ.com, except Jerry I, of course.

I have to admit, Politi is here often covering our special events.
There's nothing I can do about it, but the next time I see him I will confront him on a personal level for sure.

well, he does often post here as "KristianDyer" lol

not sure if you're saying he sometimes posts under another screen name as well ;)

Zoff doesn't fit the description of "a member of the university's administration who has ties with the athletic department but is not a part of the athletic department. The apparent desire to leak the information, the source said, stems from this individual's bitterness over not receiving a specific job in the athletic department".

Zoff has not been a member of the university administration for years, and his beef was with Mulcahy. Zoff runs a private Capital corporation and sits on the boards of several companies, including Devco and NJ Resources. But there is nothing to indicate that he had any recent interest in any job within Rutgers Athletics.

Was he or was he not seriously butt-hurt that he wasn't considered for the AD job?

really is quite remarkable isn't it.

Outing sources is a pretty egregious ethical violation, for obvious reasons.

Of course, some of our fans like to play mafia boss, so they're loving this.

The SL purposely and willfully ran with the doomsday, worst case scenario...do you dispute that?

Not at all. I responded to a post that questioned whether the person who leaked the story had access to the RU email system. He/she just needed to be aware of the investigation.

You spin me right round baby right round, like a record baby...

...BTW, Dyer didn't 'out' his source. He didn't even name the other person...and as for that person, if they like to play with figurative matches, they can't be surprised if and/ or when they get burned.

If he was, that was back in 1998. He certainly has a personal beef with Mulcahy that transcends the Sports Authority and Rutgers (and possibly the Casino Redevelopment authority).

Nonetheless, Zoffinger is no longer in the Rutgers Administration, wouldn't have access to the information that was leaked, and doesn't fit the profile that Dyer painted of the leaker.

Based on the information that Dyer presented, the leaker seems to be someone currently employed by Rutgers.

Also, mal, you seem legitimately disappointed that the info had seemed to turn in Flood's favor. If that's the case, I have one question (whether you're a fan of his or not): are you for real?

...and double lol for citing ethics when it comes an issue involving nj.com's reporting practices.

he's no longer on the BOG?

Outing your own sources is an ethical violation. But I don't necessarily see a problem in outing other people's sources.

My guess why the person who leaked the info wasn't outed: Unless you can positively prove it, you might open yourself and media outlet you work for for a libel suit.

On another note, but could be wrong: I'm totally disappointed to read some posts about this issue that have me feling the poster wants Flood to get in as much trouble as he can be in over this.
I can understand why non Rutgers fans would, but feel bad ( not surprised) over seeing how some believe the Star Liar's spin and imply Flood should receive the harshest punishment possible

Actually, one poster here comes to mind. Ever since Greg got canned by Tampa this poster has been highly critical of Flood and has openly talked about rehiring Greg as the RU HC.

This poster needs to be removed immediately! No more talk of a Schiano return!!!
