Very good article. For me Hurley wasn't my first choice but third choice. I first wanted Sendek followed by Lonergan and then Hurley. The first two have proven they can build programs and get them to the NCAA's. We know Hurley is betting on his team to be a top 25 team next year, get into the NCAA's and then he can bolt for a hire profile P5 program.

I agree with you regarding Boyle. At this juncture we cannot afford to be making more risky hires. It appears we finally have Barchi and the BOG woken up from their small time thinking and realizing, "Yeah, we're in the B1G and we need to start acting like it." We need the right hire to go in conjunction with getting the facilities built and the RAC refurbished. For me, this is a very exciting time to see Rutgers move forward and make the commitment to BB, which is should have done 25 years ago.

DW had a great bit advice ( among others) in that article: "Don’t listen to Steve, Rutgers fans, you haven’t before. Why start now?"
I fully agree with that and the don't panic RU fans article was advising us to do.
Reading some of the posts about who RU should hire makes White's advice come when it is truly needed.

Politi is a UNC alum who judges everything by the results of that azzcheatin' program. He would never, under any circumstance, imagine writing a tory that encourages top talent to stay in-state where he could cover them. he wants them in the ACC or in BigTen programs that VISIT Rutgers and put up numbers so he can cover them that way.

Of course he wants Rutgers to hire a HS coach. Didn't he write a book about Hurley's Dad? I wonder if he actively discouraged DH during an interview with him. What do you think the odds of that happening were?
