The Lane Train’s next stop is Auburn.

Anyone know of any highly talented players with jersey connections who would be worth a call 👀

Don’t see it being reported by Thamel, Feldman or McMurphy yet though. Dan Wetzel is a CFB reporter who did the retweet and Kiffin has been long rumored as choice 1 for Auburn.

Igbinosuns little brother. But he also has a big NIL deal down there.

Auburn is doing this now just in case Auburn beats Bama this weekend which would force their hand into hiring Cadillac Williams and I doubt the big money boosters want Williams for various reasons.

It sure would be interesting of Ole Miss got Leipold…..or Deion
i find this hard to believe but...On Monday, 247Sports college football analyst Carl Reed reported that Deion Sanders is in talks with both Colorado and South Florida for their vacant head jobs....

given his history with Atlanta, i thought he would get a look at Ga tech, maybe he is concerned about academic hurdles.....

And now a response from Kiffin

looked the original tweeter up and it’s a tv guy…tv and radio guys aren’t often as accurate as the print guys from what I’ve seen in history…thats why I mentioned McMurphy Thamel or Feldman

Why would Kiffin leave to coach at a school that has one of the more entitled, delusional fanbases in college football?

Great offensive coach.

I look him up on Wiki and the stats aren't "great."

Aside from 4 yrs at USC He's usually on a team for only around two years
Only title as HC are a couple CUSA titles (with powerhouses like Wagner, Old Dominion and Ball St.). Ohio St beat his title team 45-21

I'm sure he's a decent enough coach but he gets talked about like he's the next Urban Meyer

As bad as the boosters are, you can win and compete for a national title there. Chizik won one and Malzahn went to one in the last 15 years. Ole Miss won’t have the crazy boosters to such an extent though so it just depends on what’s important to him.

He is the best those schools can get.

There were also:
Kevin Sumlin
James Franklin
Derek Mason
Joker Phillips

Can't really add Charlie Strong with Texas, as he coached in the Big XII not the SEC

A lot of coach hopping in the SEC - where HC at one school may wind up at another SEC school. It really is like the NFL

It took the SEC until the '70s to recruit black players, but the barriers have fallen since then.
Nate Northington played for Kentucky in 1967. But, it wasn’t until the 1970’s that recruitment of Black players really started to expand. We may be a little slow on the up take of the impact of Black athletes in the world of the perspiring arts, but I think we have made considerable strides since our awakening in the 70’s.

Many thanks to the coaches and players who took the political and personal risks to integrate Black athletes in to the segregated South.

Much more remains to be done in terms of coaches however.

Not to disparage Lane, but if your Auburn, with almost unlimited resources, why go after Kiffen when you could go after someone like Meyer or Stoops? Granted, I do not know if they want to coach again but if you want to beat Bama, guys who have won NC's previously are a better bet than Lane who seems to be the Larry Brown of CFB.

Lane Kiffen is more like the Bruce Pearl of CFB. Larry Brown has actually won championships.

I still believe , when it comes to who Auburn will hire, it will be the Rhule.
Jeff Cohen is letting speculation fly, while negativing quietly with Matt Rhule.
