The thread has been updated all along with developments but I think he would've left which is why he waited til the last possible moment to finally come out say he was staying. He said he didn't want to say he was staying because he didn't want to distract from the players and have the Egg Bowl be about him. What BS lol. It's more likely he was waiting to see if Auburn could beat Ole Miss' offer of 9M for 8 years. Auburn didn't (they paid Freeze 6.5M over 6 years iirc) so he stayed.
I don't even know what's the point of the contract for a school. It's pretty much not worth anything to them, only the coach. Kiffin has been at Ole Miss for 3 years and has signed 3 contracts with them lol. They hurdles to leave aren't often that high and wane with time but the school is often on the hook for most of it or everything. I'll say it again, schools should hire agents to negotiate on their behalf because ADs and whomever they use are not savvy.
