Looks like Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel is a Heisman contender this year.
We miss him though.

When was the last time we played the eventual Heisman winner?
I briefly looked at prior winners and nothing jumped out at me.

Appears we didn't play Miami in 1992 (QB Toretta).

We played Auburn with Bo Jackson in 1982,but he didn't win until 1985.

Appears we didn't play Miami in 1992 (QB Toretta).

Indeed, the full round robin in-conference schedule for the Big East didn't commence until 1993 so no Hurricanes in either 91 or 92. In 93, RU played Miami for the first time ever down in the OB. Miami's first trip up to Piscataway was the following season in 94 in the newly expanded Rutgers Stadium.

Btw, always felt it was a travesty that Toretta won the 92 Heisman over Marshall Faulk at SDSU who had some pretty gaudy numbers.
