Where a self-interested liar claims there is smoke there is NO FIRE.
20 years later there was actual fire that was burning children witnessed by the liar but he stayed quiet for a promotion. Then claimed someone else saw the fire 20 years earlier.
Schiano was at Penn State 1990-1995.. allegedly the earliest 2 known victims meets Sandusky in 1994 and 1995.
There are records of other people, like janitorial staff, seeing something, talking about it, failing to follow-up.
Even records of a possible victim's mother reporting her boy showered with the coach and confronting him.
In 2002 McQueary saw something. Told his Dad, told Paterno, told AD Curley.. and accepted their response.. which was to take away Sandusky's keys to the building with the showers. He accepted that no law enforcement would get involved. Why?
Since Paterno's re-telling was that when he got a call from unpaid graduate-assistant McQueary that morning that he thought it was about asking for a paid position and he would have to tell him NO.. that THAT was what Paterno anticipated the call was about. But what happened after this? They found a paid position for McQueary.
And what happened after McQueary made up this story about Schiano? he got paid millions.
NO ONE supports McQueary's third-hand story. We are supposed to believe it.. why? That a grad assistant offensive coach talked to a DC who told a story how a former defensive assistant told him he saw something with Sandusky and a boy?
McQueary played at PSU during 2 of the years Schiano was there.. 1994 and 1995. He was an unpaid assistant from 2000-2003. And a PAID assistant from 2003-2011 when the story went public. It was spring of 2002 where McQueary witnessed the abuse of a 10-year old boy and accepted the administration's response when he should have beaten naked Sandusky to a pulp in that shower room. Instead he was paid off with a job for 9 years.. the sued PSU and was awarded $7.3 million which Penn State appealed and lost adding $5M to that award.. PSU settled out-of-court rather than appeal (and lose) again.
So, in effect, McQueary made many millions because of keeping what he knew inside the Penn State family. But we are supposed to believe him when he says GS saw something.. just like we were supposed the believe him when he claimed he went to the police.. when there is no record of that anywhere. He made up stories to spread the blame for his lack of follow-thru, which he knows he did because he got paid to not follow-thru.
