For Rivera to ride out Lee and get 2 takedowns says a lot about who he is a wrestler.

Choosing bottom in future matches vs. Lee is a big mistake, the kid is DIRTY on top.

Rivera stays off his back in 1st and he wins that match. Lee could barely stand up at the end.

I wouldn’t go that far. But, Lee is vulnerable on bottom and in the 3rd period. Lee has a very good high crotch and a lethal throw by. Match strategy against Lee will be interesting. With choice do you go under against Lee in the second, take top and try to wear him down or defer and let Lee decide? Decent arguments for all three options. Pushing the pace early will be key.

Lee seems to come out like gang busters each match looking for a quick fall. If you can withstand that assault he does seem to tire later. Perhaps still getting to a fitness level to go hard for a full 7.

Lee is a transcendent top wrestler.. ..Suriano can beat him with his gas tank and staying on hit feet

I think that Lee's gas tank is a bit suspect... RIGHT NOW. Remember he is coming off ACL surgery, and in his final HS season didn't practice for almost the final month. I wonder how he will do on the weekends of BigTen and NCAA's. He'll probably breeze through the first match or two but as it gets tougher he may fade.

I was worried about Suriano v Lee up until the last few Lee matches where the pattern plays out. He isn't in 7 minute wrestling shape just yet.

Nick can beat Spencer but he needs to stay off bottom. He should seriously take neutral when given the choice. He can beat him on his feet but if Lee gets on top of you he has a bevy of tilts he can work with. As for this match I think it says as much about the quality of Rivera as it does to any potential conditioning issues that Spencer may be dealing with. Sebastian is really good. I don't think he finishes top 3 or anything, but competing for top 8 is a possibility depending on his draw.

Match score and situation will determine whether Nick stays off bottom. Lots of possible scenarios that I expect the coaches will have planned for/be ready for.
