kenny britt, mo sanu, brown, baker, tres moses, ti underwood, my all time fav shawn tucker, guarntino..

Leonte isn't gonna catch britts ridiculous yardage production, or grow a couple inches any time soon, but he is going to be the all time TD leader by a decent margin. He doesn;t have browns speed, britts size, or sanus hands although it is probably close ..that last catch vs osu
I love that he stayed for another season - takes a lot of bawlls especially given his history with the same quarterback for so many years and another coordinator..laviano or rettig have such a luxury..Thru 3 seasons britt is the best, but if leonte puts up the same numbers as last year I think he has a case for best ever

A bit early to make that assessment I think. I'd like to see (and hope) him have good productivity this season before I can say he was the best. He doesn't have Britt's big play capabilities, but he's more clutch that Britt. At this point, I'd say Sanu and Moses were still more reliable.

No way. Britt by a wide margin. Big, tough, and a game breaker. I'd take Carroo over Sanu though. Sanu was a great consistent possession guy and versatile but Carroo has great hands too and more big play ability.

Will reserve judgment on Caroo until after the season, but Sanu is my #1.

Exactly. Caroo's freshman year was essentially a red shirt year, as he mostly played on STs. His senior year will be the equivalent of Britt's and Sanu's red shirt junior years. I'll make the judgement after the season.

Britt and Sanu didn't have any redshirt years, they were both 3 and done

The second play really gives me hope for the future in terms of scheme. Things I noticed:
  • Watch the WR motion into the back field. Not sure if that's a RB that lined up wide and motioned back in or a WR. Either way, that look gives the defense one more thing to worry about (RB at WR or WR motioning in to carry the ball a la Percy Harvin).
  • Now watch the line play - everyone along the line fires out as if it's an inside zone run
  • The RB(WR) also moves like he is expecting the ball
  • Then watch Nova fire it out to Carroo who's defender is playing 10 yards off. Carroo creates space by initially running a vertical stem, forcing the DB into his backpedal. Then he turns around for a quick 5 pick-up.
Folks, this is an inside zone run with pop-pass combo play! Not sure if that's the work of Friedgen or McDandiels, but I'm really excited to see these modern concepts/play-design in our playbook!

[Edit]: Wow that fade INT to end the half really sucked. Looks like Nova saw press coverage and figured Carroo could sneak by. Unfortunately, it was a disguise and the DB backed off into a zone allowing him to turn around and "see" the ball and make a play on it. Unless your WR has a significant height/reach/jump advantage, the fade is an extremely low percentage play to begin with. Nova should have just went through his progressions on the trips side. Looks like they were running a SNAG concept and had the bottom CB perfectly high-low'd for a TD to the opposite corner:

BTW: I'd go Britt, Sanu, Carroo.

Sanu was getting doubled in most games in 2011 and would still finish with double digit reception games. He was that era's Ray Rice the way Schiano fed him. Anyone remember his game against Army in Yankee stadium when they targeted him probably two dozen times? He also smashed Marvin Harrison's Big East reception record that year.

I love Sanu... but I believe another year could prove Carroo may very well be the all-time great at the position. I thought very highly of Britt while at RU and I thought Sanu was the most dependable player during a time we couldn't figure out who was our QB and Joe Martinek (nothing against him, but just couldn't fill Ray Rice's shoes) was the best option at back. But the catches Carroo makes at full speed I believe are incredible. I'm sure he's had his drops but I just think he catches everything, not just a bunch of dink and dunk pass and catch scenarios. I believe he's a future star and even though he gets recognition within the Big10, I don't think he received nearly enough respect on a national level.

I still love how when the crowd goes nuts after a big Sanu or Caroo play, the casual fan (or opposing fan) looks quizzically, "Why's everyone booing?"
