How did they do the RU, USA, Flags after the first quarter. We it a projection, drones lifting a grid or did the string them upp between to poles?

Saw it coming. Thought it was going to be a light show or an alien invasion. Too bad it wasn’t an alien invasion that forced us to stop the game after half.

Drone show was amazing.

Maybe no fly over because of the night game?
We have had one before for a night game. UNC - Navy plane.

But my guess is the drone show canceled out any chance for that. As of right now that kind of show is not allowed in NYC airspace according to the FAA.

Still thinking they still could have pulled one off at kickoff, even just a helicopter would have been nice.

Needing air space for the drone show makes sense.

Maybe there were military aircrafts available? I know that's happened once or twice & we end up with NJST helicopters instead

That’s what I was thinking too.

Just something, anything would have been nice.

As soon as the Star Spangled Banner started to wind down I began to look to my left (your right) to see if anyone was coming.

Maybe the fireworks might be an issue too?

There was a flyover of 3 helicopters over MetLife during a marching band championship earlier in the day, but not sure if it was part of an official tribute there. A band director I know was not thrilled, but he did appreciate the blades were all synchronized in his photo.

We had fireworks & a NJST helicopter the first game.

Going to a drone show was on my bucket list. I would have driven hours to get to one. I was watching g the fireworks and almost missed this right behind me. At first I thought - nice new R sign, because who would put up a drone show and not tell anyone? That would be crazy.

On Friday, 3 military helicopters flew over my house and then on the broadcast Saturday, they showed that they had landed on the RU campus. I think they didn't do a fly over Saturday because of the drone show.

Well there you go.

It would have been nice to see something, anything as a flyover.

But the drone thing was really cool.
I must be (or already have) completely losing it. I could have sworn there was an official announcement about a pre-game flyover. Text message? Even my son was expecting it and he's still got his marbles. Wow. Must have been dreaming.

You must have been dreaming. A flyover was never part of the official program

Well for a few minutes it looked like we finally got the “Death Star” that we wanted for the stadium expansion 🤣🤣

Could have had both.
Maybe, maybe not. As I mentioned earlier NYC has some very strident rules with regard to what we saw on game night. Maybe NJ has them too now?

Could have been just a timing window thing.

yes. I should have said "would have been great to have both".

Would be interesting how the expense of the drone show was covered.

I realize budgets don't work like "cut this money from column X and just add it to column Y" but everyone complains about the AD having no money. Even after the new media deal, we still won't have any money despite $100m/revenue.

I would imagine allocating all funds towards items that contribute towards actual wins is a better investment.

When all is said and done the "pie" will be the biggest it's ever been.

That being said, the bigger pie doesn't mean everyone now gets a bigger (they will by default) or equal slice. For almost every other sport they are still going to way ahead of where they were just a few years ago.

So I am with you on that last point.
