Live Period Thread-Who RU will watch

He isn't----and here's a heads up----they play zone in the NBA .

Cuse has 8 # 1 draft choices since 2010--------I guess the GM's who made those picks weren't bothered by it.

They don't play 1-3-1 in the NBA.

I'm not going to get off track, so this is the last comment......NBA plays man with a lot of weak side help. The 3 second defensive call guarantees that it is not pure zone. Syracuse has done very well with guards in college.......they have not translated as well to the NBA.

Back to the OP.....

I don't anyone's arguing where a player may go in mid July, but the Cuse argument is kinda dependent on what the argument is....if your only goal is to get just drafted, then your talent level or future projections have much more to do with draft status than actual college play....players from overseas get drafted all the time and never pan out or can play well at an NBA level

I can only think of 3 players playing meaningful NBA minutes in recent 9-10 years (Carter-Williams, Wesley Johnson and Dion Waiters)....going all the way back to all Cuse players drafted in recent years in either 1st or 2nd rounds.

Whether Carey goes to Cuse or not is up to the player, but many can argue that Cuse players have been significantly more bust than boom once they get to the league....The lack of defense played at Cuse doesn't prepare you for the next level, but we are talking about college programs and Cuse holds an obvious advantage over a lot of places historically etc.....that doesn't mean every recruit choosing Cuse is destined to max their potential there.

Back to the original topic, it's always easy to say any one recruit isn't going to a particular school if that player has 15+ offers, 90% of the time saying "not that school", makes it an easy prediction....the proof of finding the ones that predict where a player actually is likely to go that's much more valuable.

Cuse was in the Final 4 2 years ago----there's a great tradition of putting guys in the league----they play in the best league in the country in front of 20,000 plus.

Hopefully in a Year or Two that will be the case but for right now I cannot see Rutgers going toe to toe with them for guys and having much success.

Would love to be wrong.
Having a 73 year old coach will catch up with them on the recruiting trail very soon.

Remember, Boeheim no longer has Hopkins as a top assistant. Time will tell if it makes a difference. Pitino should retire with K, Roy Williams and Boeheim.

I already mentioned Pitino a half hour before you did. I would like to see a lot of the old guard retire.

Respect the hell out of Pike + crew being everywhere recruiting. Hopefully the hardwork pays off
