it's disgusting and he did the same thing for years with Nova. it was always everyone else's fault EXCEPT Nova. I felt bad for those kids. I feel really bad for any kid that has to be coached by this destructive favoritist.
He is either addled, low iq or so extremely self interested and willing to place his own interests above his players and program that he would rather preserve the idea he is right than see potential evidence he may be wrong.

Remember when Rutgers had a defense like that? This quote actually damns the offense AND the defense. I know this is all coach-speak and most of it means nothing at all, but it is still hard to take when the team is unprepared and doesn't compete week after week. After his cloak and dagger episode this man has literally nothing going for him. I wonder if he realizes how far in over his head he actually is.
Just last week I was reading articles from Kent St. Flood was asked about the 6 INTs and Flood described it as "a valuable learning experience" for Nova. Of course so would have been being benched.
Agreed plus one more explanation. His low football IQ and perhaps low in general cognitive abilities makes Flood only comfortable with a very predictable offense. Rettig can throw the football downfield and open the game up at anytime. Emergent elements in any sport require a coach that can think in real-time. Flood simply cannot do that. So he has picked the QB that can fit with his limited coaching and cognitive abilities.
If you can't simulate a defense that's disciplined and well-coached, you're in a lot of trouble. That also says a lot about your defensive coaches. None of it good.
You know who else said that we couldn't simulate that in practice? Terry Shea. He said that constantly. That's a problem when you don't have players on your squad who can simulate the speed and strength of your opponent.
He should give the other guy a shot. Has a better arm.
