Lockhaven tomorrow

I'm surprised Cary Kolat never turned that program around. But unfortunately, lock haven is in a crappy area and the academics aren't very good. It's like a high school with ash trays

They have 5 top 30 ranked wrestlers, one at 14.

They have more ranked wrestlers than I originally thought.
Best match:133 Shawver v #14 Noto(top 4 finish at 125)
#2 141 Olivieri v #23Henson(original Iowa commit)
— 157 will be interesting to c how Harer bounces back against #33
—174 how Turley bounces back against #33
—-184 who will we roll out vs #28 Fegly(Walsh beat him 4-2 at Princeton open)

I think Walsh lost to Fegley.

Noto was 3rd at 125, much better than Peterson's performance. This is Shawver's first challenge to show he's still on track.

This is Harer's opportunity to show us he fits in where we think he fits in. Barbosa should prevail. I think Turley better get back on track - I'm beginning to think he may not win the NCAA championship. Walsh had his chance with Fegley; this will be a good comparative test for Soldano. Olivieri will be challenged and better start scoring more.

Correct. Walsh lost to Fegley at the Princeton Open.

Agree, I think coaches put Soldano out tonight to get another data point on the starting spot. Think Walsh will go on Sunday.
Olivieri needs to win this match. I have said multiple times about different wrestlers "a lot of college wrestlers can lose close matches" winning is what matters.
Harer-agree, going up against a Sr who is ranked around 32nd....need to beat this type of wrestler.

My predictions for tonight's dual.

125: Peterson over Logue, RU 3-0
133: Shawver over Noto, RU 6-0
141: Henson over Olivieri, RU 6-3
149: Clark over Kapusta, RU 9-3
157: Stampoulos over Harer, RU 9-6
165: Barbosa over Dobbins, RU 12-6
174: Turley over Bassett, RU 15-6
184: SCW over Fegley, RU 18-6
197: Poz over Hogan (MD), RU 22-6
HWT: Yara over Miller (MD), RU 26-6

Correct. Walsh lost to Fegley at the Princeton Open.
Ah ok on the ru website it said this”
  • Cartagena-Walsh faced projected starter Colin Fegley last month at the Princeton Open, working a 4-2 decision.”
So I interpreted that as Walsh won 4-2 but I guess “working “ meant he loss or they miswrote it.

It was poorly worded.

This will be a tight meet with it probably being a 6-4 split. Lock Haven kids are a gritty PA kids

A 6-4 split to Lock Haven would be a very very disappointing result.. pretty much nullifies Goodale preseason speech of moving this program past what we were in the past… I get giving respect to opponents but this dual should not be tight if we are heading in the right direction as a program…

I agree. Lock Haven should not be keeping it tight with us.If that happens, we have to start thinking about a coaching change down the road.

I like Cetta more, at least he tries to shoot and has good setups. Clark does nothing at all.
