“Olivieri closed the night with Conner Heckman and jumped out to an early 9-2 lead before finishing with a 19-3 tech fall in the third period. RU's fourth bonus-point victory of the night made it a 34-6 final.”They announced it was Wyeth Henson at the match
They wrestle 10 times, they split 5-5... Noto had a huge 6pt counter... Then showed excellent defense as Shawver got in deep twice on him...Shawvwr looked much tougher on his feet than Noto.Just got caught in that cradle. It will be different the next time around.
That’s my guess. And Soldano probably didn’t want to be too much over 184 if they want him to make weight Sunday. He can drop those 3 pounds in a day easily.😲 Soldano going at 97. Giving Poz a rest for Sun?
You made this conclusion after the first bout?? About the entire team? LOL!!!Team really seems to be humming with all the coaching changes
Yea and a couple clowns called for a coaching change because of a match speculation ....nothing changes ...same Debbie downers just a different day ...You made this conclusion after the first bout?? About the entire team? LOL!!!
Let's be clear here. Rutger's beat a glorified division one team. Quite a few matches we were getting out muscled by mid level/lower tier wrestlers.Yea and a couple clowns called for a coaching change because of a match speculation ....nothing changes ...same Debbie downers just a different day ...
100%. This is what’s expected when you wrestle a team you’re supposed to beat.Let's be clear here. Rutger's beat a glorified division one team. Quite a few matches we were getting out muscled by mid level wrestlers.
Team did not look good and even Goodale said it in his press conference. Probably could left coaching part out of comments. You made this conclusion after the first bout?? About the entire team? LOL!!!
The problem is there's no emphasis on constantly attacking and strength training. I don't know if it is the recruits or the current culture of the program. All I know is when Donny was here we had some guys who were relentless attackers and wrestled way above their high school pedigree Ala Gravina and Lewis. You definitely have to mention coaching. This team has made a nosedive since Donny left.Team did not look good and even Goodale said it in his press conference. Probably could left coaching part out of comments.
2nd half much better. From Soldano all the way through but Lock Haven also wrestled 2 backups at 25 and 41. Really have no desire to see White, he is what he is. Give me Barbosa all day. Clark is also turning into White. Just has no offense. I think Cetta has more upside.
Will need to be much better to compete vs real B10 caliber competition.
That was actually only wng, w the actual 6-4 possible match speculation…def will give credit when it’s due but gotta call a spade a spade.. some ppl were just sayin if that actually happened would be insane n serious problems.. 8-2 is about expected considering Clark got upset and Shawver slight upset/loss coinflip.. we won slight coin flips at 157/184.. we will get more drubbings soon against clarion etc..That’s my guess. And Soldano probably didn’t want to be too much over 184 if they want him to make weight Sunday. He can drop those 3 pounds in a day easily.
Side note I want to see people give credit where credit is due. Not all the matches were pretty but with a 6-4 speculation, they came out 8-2 with one of the losses being an AA vs AA, and we didn’t wrestle Barbosa or Poz, and slid a 184 up to 197. Multiple pins, even more matches by bonus. This was a drubbing.
SCW has been wrestling way above his high school pedigree.. his motor is impressive. The problem is there's no emphasis on constantly attacking and strength training. He's doing pretty good, but he's leaning over too much and wrestling kind of stiff. The higher level guys are going to get to his legs quickly. He's also gassing towards the end which is not a good sign.SCW has been wrestling way above his high school pedigree.. his motor is impressive.
While I don't disagree with your points about being aggressive and strength training but Donny was here last year and the same guys had the same issues so he isn't the x-factor\impact. Clark, White, Olivieri, etc. all have extremely limited offensive skill sets and it's been that way since high school. None of them were high scoring guys (against legitimate opponents at least) and they never developed them, which severely limits their upside unfortunately. This makes it very difficult to upset someone higher ranked but it also allows them to get upset by lesser opponents because one fluke take down could put the match out of reach. We've seen this happen time and time again. The problem is there's no emphasis on constantly attacking and strength training. I don't know if it is the recruits or the current culture of the program. He wrestled well in Virginia and beat a returning AA in that match. While you are right and that opponent did get to his legs deep several times, SCW's neutral defense was very impressive. Will have to wait and see how he fares against the rest of the better competition going forward to see if that was a one off or not. He's doing pretty good, but he's leaning over too much and wrestling kind of stiff. It's a thought, especially since Soldano wrestled 97 last night, but that wouldn't make much sense for him to permanently wrestle there since he was already undersized and struggled at 84. I think someone questioned about Poz wrestling 84 last year and someone in the know said he couldn't make that weight again. Maybe an insider would like to chime in here. Poz on a rest night last night, banged up a little, making a cut to 84??Wonder if Soldano goes 97 and poz drops down to 184
My response was directed that you made this conclusion "Team looks awful. Lock Haven looks like the B10 team." after one bout, and the bout was Andrew Clark no less. I just found it strange after one match. That's all. I do agree with your comments above.Team did not look good and even Goodale said it in his press conference. Probably could left coaching part out of comments.

While Soldano did get the pin Hogan was WAY bigger than Soldano. He is too small for 184. Going up to 197 would be a complete joke. He would get mauled generally and manage to pin somebody occasionally. He wrestled well in Virginia and beat a returning AA in that match. Poz looked his best when he was at 184 his freshman year taking 4th… some may say it was a fluke year bc shortened season, or no Ives , or weaker competition or w.e.. the facts are Poz still beat Nelson Brands, Deprez, took Hidlay into OT, and was right up there, losing a tight 5-4 match to fellow freshman Kekeisen…. That season..I believe Poz walks around normally above 210 + in the off season....I would highly doubt he could cut down to 184 and still be competitive
If we get that 2021 Poz version at 184 that would be ideal.Wonder if Soldano goes 97 and poz drops down to 184
Because the matches at 133 and 141 (on paper) were by far the two best matchups and would keep people in their seats for all 10 bouts. This is common place is duals where one team is heavily favored.Match report:
149: Why on Earth did Goodie agree to start the dual at 149?! That's our 3 weakest weights going first. Clark zero offense.
The guy that beat him on VT looks like he walks around at 230 in the offseason with his huge frame.I believe Poz walks around normally above 210 + in the off season....I would highly doubt he could cut down to 184 and still be competitive
Goodie never starts at alternate weights. This dual was an aberration. He didn't do this to keep people in their seats. That explanation doesn't pass the smell test.Because the matches at 133 and 141 (on paper) were by far the two best matchups and would keep people in their seats for all 10 bouts. What conspiracy do you think?Goodie never starts at alternate weights. This dual was an aberration. He didn't do this to keep people in their seats. That explanation doesn't pass the smell test.
