I just read that the St. John's PG, Lovett has been ruled a partial qualifier by the NCAA and will not be able to play until next year. This is a major hit for the Johnnies as he is supposedly by far their best player.

I do not know if he is their best player, but it is a big hit no doubt. They will certainly struggle a great deal this year - maybe a 8/10 win team. Plus, Yakwe - who is potentially better than Lovett - is also red shirting this year. For St. John's they are going to have to wait until next season for things to get brighter.

It appears that SHU will be the best team in the NYC metro area this season.

Hopefully our staff can get RU playing strong defense this season, and then bring in some talent during the Spring signing period.
