You do not need to pay everyone a crazy amount of money. Coaches can still identify under the radar guys and turn them into contributors. We have done it for years, unless that was all coach Hobbs. If pikiell cannot do it for the ONE YEAR it actually matters, he's a failure.

Duke was done in by injuries. Dariq Whitehead broke his foot before the season, missed camp and the first few games, and was never right, and probably should not have rushed back. Lively was also banged up most of the year. Injuries are always a big factor, let’s hope we get healthy years from Dylan and Ace.
I've never seen a fan of a team with a coach who completely blew it in the last half of the season TWO seasons in a row in order to miss the tournament be as content as you are. Especially after the most talented team we've ever had here gets blown out of kiddie play-in tournament for the real NCAA tournament the year before.

Pike lost this team. They weren't even trying to play defense by the end. Somehow griff didn't take a single step forward. Miller regressed. Our big transfer was quite literally worthless. Cliff regressed.
Our coach was literally garbage this year.
Gavin didn't make a single step forward? He went from 24% to 37% from three over the last seven games of the year.

You seem to be under the assumption there was no way to make the tournament this year. That's a fallacy. We had a decent path to the tournament down the stretch right before we lost everything and pike couldn't keep mag from quitting on his team.

We had 4 straight NCAA teams. And don't even tell me "it was 2". it took 2 extraordinary circumstances to get 2 bids stripped.
This year sucked but it happens to the best of the blue bloods.
