Many tickets still available on SK.com

Assume your numbers are about right. If RU gets blown out the RU fans will leave early and the game will end with 75% PSU fans in the building chanting the We Are slogan. Not a pretty sight for RU fans on Senior Day and why some RU fans will choose not to go.

That's gotta be the single dumbest reason NOT to go to the game. Shit, I've got a buddy in from Utah, he can't wait to attend his first game this year regardless of all the crap.

Let's be frank. It's not exactly a destination game, and it's a night game in November. Do you really think Bama fans would flock to Rutgers under similar circumstances? Granted, it's shorter distance for many of us, but I simply have no desire to go after what I heard it was like last time.

I think you might find an answer elsewhere, where experiences from 2 years ago are cited all too frequently.

This is what it's come to. At least with Flood, I always felt there was a chance -- albeit slim -- we'd pull an upset. With CA, I give us exactly zero chance to win this game. Going 1-0 doesn't sound so moronic anymore.

RU is @ Maryland the following week.

Pen St has a good sized fanbase, but it's not Ohio St , Bama or Nebraska.
I've said this a million times, PSU has a huge NJ alumni base. The RU game is one where the alumni will travel well

You guys actually making fun of Penn State fans not wanting to buy tickets ($80) to watch them play a 2-8 team? Maybe this is even more evidence of a non-rivalry.

If the game gets the type of dismal home attendance anticipated, you can be sure this will be Rutgers last night game for a while.

@mdh2003 you "tagged" me in a thread on the RT, which I am no longer a member of, regarding the e-mail about tix for Saturday's games and their availability. What's up?

Oh, sorry about that.

I was just being a wise-ass. Nothing to do with tix. Someone asked how can you tell if a signing class is good or not. I basically said, you were the barometer. If you go ballistic, like you did about flood, we're in deep doo doo.

Ahhhh okay lol! Thanks! Well, so far, I've been spot-on about everything I've said re: Flood since Sept of 2013. Let's PRAY that I'm just as right about Ash and Co or we're in B1G trouble LOL!!! [cheers]

It's official:

Not only are all of the season ticket holders in my crew making it to a game, together, for the 1st time this season BUT we're looking for extras (all RU alumni/fans). I'm shocked, to be 100% honest, but love it nonetheless! A couple of these are guys who literally stopped coming to games the last couple of years, btw.

You're not Ohio St, their fans travel better.[/QUOTE
Since yesterday, around 200 tickets sold on SK.com
Still surprised Pen St fans have not gobbled them up, especially with their large alumni base in NJ/NY/EasternPa

This may be one of the oddest passive aggressive threads I have ever seen. You also won't let it die with your updates. The schtick is bad. Why don't you worry about supporting your seniors on senior night. The PSU fans will show up and probably be there long after the Rutgers fans have gone home. You don't travel like Alabama, you don't have a fan base like Ohio State. I wish I could give you credit for originality however, this thread is sad.

@goethe14, Not sure why you're so sensitive about it, just stating facts.

Maybe an opposing team's board is too much for you to handle emotionally.

Where did you get sensitive and emotional from my response? You know you're going to lose so you start a preemptive thread about low PSU ticket purchases? The game is Saturday. There are no facts until after the game is played and tickets have been sold. What you have here is speculative dribble. Is this where the pride of your New Jersey Fandom comes from? My school won't sell any tickets for Senior night so I will try to somehow turn it around on the visiting squad? Again this is just an odd passive aggressive thread.

Sorry the facts got under your skin.

Because that's what TV cares about
TV cares about ratings. And if RU fans aren't coming, they sure are going to watch the game at home. Rutgers has been very good to the ratings. My son has wanted to be at a packed stadium and thought this would be the best chance. We will be there in our scarlet rooting the Scarlet Knights on.

There only appear to be about 1,000 tickets left on SK.com. I predict that this game will be a sellout and many RU fans will have also sold out by selling their tickets to the highest PSU bidder. I'll be there with my usually tailgating buddies. Go RU!

Of the 20+ that will be at my tailgate, 7 or so have tickets. The prices will drive them to watch the game at the bars in New Brunswick.

There's a couple things I think holding PSUers back. 1. This year we already sold out Pitt, most of us that went ended up with Pitt season tickets or at least a mini plan at $125/ea. 2. We're anticipating a potential B1GCCG. 3. And a major bowl. 4. If L'ville loses tonight then we have a clearer path to the playoffs too.

DONT sell Tickets to the CULT..PSU jersey traitors are trying hard to get tickets..

Enter Rutgers, a objectively bad team hosting a regional rival with the hopes of doing something bigger and better than anything in the past decade. A prime time for an upset indeed.

Fortunately for Penn State there is a bit of a built in reason for players to not overlook this game. 19 players hail from New Jersey, nothing gets you going quite like playing in front of fans and perhaps more importantly, taking on the team you saw growing up.

So does that keep you focused?

"Yeah, absolutely," Tight end Mike Gesicki said this week. "It's good for a lot of the guys on the team. A lot of guys are from Jersey or close to Jersey. So I think it's a great opportunity for all of us to go in there. Rutgers is a good football team. They have a lot of talent. They have a great head coach. They're going to be more determined and more focused than ever to get a win."

"So I think playing there in a night game on a big stage, all that stuff and a great atmosphere, I think it's a great opportunity for us. We're not overlooking anybody, and we're excited for this opportunity."

And as you might expect, Penn State's star tight end won't be short on his own fans in the stands.

"My dad texted me this morning and said, If you can get a hundred tickets, I can get a hundred people to go. So I'm definitely scrapping for some tickets right now. I'm asking everybody. Doing whatever it takes."
