That sucks. Now it’s a no win situation for us.
While I understand your point, any Big Ten road win is terrific, IMO ... but it scares me when a team gets hammered before the RU game . OSU will very likely be mad, and out for blood - and at home, no less. That sucks. Now it’s a no win situation for us.
TrueOh please that’s a huge exaggeration.
Not a no win, at this point RU needs wins, period. Also, it’s a Big 10 Road win and likely will be a Q1 if RU can get it (as long as OSU stays in top 75 this year in the NET). Definitely not a no win situation. That sucks. Now it’s a no win situation for us.
Ok quad 1. I’m sold on that. Not a no win, at this point RU needs wins, period. Also, it’s a Big 10 Road win and likely will be a Q1 if RU can get it (as long as OSU stays in top 75 this year in the NET). Definitely not a no win situation.
Except for, you know, we winThat sucks. Now it’s a no win situation for us.
You've got to watch the Refs.We will win at OSU by 10+
agreed. while it is a common refrain for me, when you see something in past years like..You've got to watch the Refs.
I’ve never understood how any referee or umpire in any sport is influenced by the home venue.agreed. while it is a common refrain for me, when you see something in past years like..
- Penn State has bad luck lost a lot of close games
followed by..
- Penn State leads the league in fouls
And then Rutgers favored by X..
You just know the refs are going to help Penn State recover from their "bad luck" and, quite suddenly,. they no longer commit fouls.
Ohio State will be helped by the refs... especially at home.
Have experienced it many times, though not in the Big Leagues.I’ve never understood how any referee or umpire in any sport is influenced by the home venue.
I just can’t believe it’s willful
Not sure what your point is. Queen was a Top 15-20 player (or higher) coming out of high school ... Sommerville was not. Queen was a McDonald's All American player ... Sommerville was not.Derik Queen is an absolute stud and if we had him at center, I love Lathan and he is going to take a little more time , but Queen is ready now. His moves , footwork and heady play was outstanding for any player let alone a freshman. He will go top 10 in the draft.
My point was not to demean Lathan but just to point out how further along Queen is . He was the second best player in the McDonald’s game after Dylan but seeing him do it against college competition , just like watching Dylan’s performances in Vegas has you marveling at just how good they are. . It was not to compare or lament not getting Queen. I am very happy with our freshman class and LathanNot sure what your point is. IMO Queen was the 2nd best player in that McDonald's All America All Star game, to Harper (and remember, Flagg, Bailey, Edgecombe, Tre Johnson and others were in that game as well ... I think Liam McNeely of UConn also) ... Sommerville was not in the game.
We got 2 of the top 5 recruits in the country - isn't that enough? Queen was never in play for RU. Sure, if RU had ALSO gotten another top 10-15 player we'd be better off than having Sommerville ... well, duh!
Other than that, I agree, Queen is very impressive and is a potential Top 10 NBA draft pick - not sure he is a one and done or not.

I just can’t believe it’s willful
It sure as shit is willful very often. It’s not willful, they are subtly influenced by the crowd.
It sure as shit is willful very often.
It is weird I think it seems to work the opposite for Rutgers.. so you may be right.I’ve never understood how any referee or umpire in any sport is influenced by the home venue.
I just can’t believe it’s willful
Guess you've never played baseball in Albany, NY. You couldn't go in there & expect a square game. Saw the New Rochelle Robins pull their team off the field in a semi pro tournament. We played the Albany Twilight league All-Star team there. Were down 1-0 late in game had a guy on first. Guy hit a shot & our runner, a very good base runner, scored. The Albany boys appealed that he didn't touch second. Base ump didn't see that he had missed it. They appealed to the home plate ump & he banged our guy out--from home plate. We were out of the inning. We should have walked off the field but the game was so close. We lost 1-0.Not likely.
Do you remember the NBA ref who came clean in his book on the ref conspiracy to screw Alan Iverson.Recall officials gambling scandals from years past and recognize now how commonplace and accessible sports gambling is today.
You just KNOW that there are more officials in sports today making calls to help bets they or their friends and family have made than ever before.
I see that it is quite cynical to assume that... but that is where I find myself.
I duuno.. the palming is something they should have stopped a long time ago.. allowing the roughing him up... don't like that. Hmm.. knowing they would do that.. I wonder if any of them tipped bettors. Same for hockey when the Devils coach was punished by officials for.. well, forever, right? And the Raiders still get punished for having Al Davis (and his family) as an owner. Tuck Rule? are you kidding me? There was never any tuck rule until they needed to screw the Raiders from getting back to the Superbowl.Do you remember the NBA ref who came clean in his book on the ref conspiracy to screw Alan Iverson.
