Match Thread: RU vs Michigan State

What Scott meant is that we won’t hype Kolo/Ash as asuper duper event. Just another match. I would have no problem biting Janzer’s shirt if he is capable. Look when we redshirted Theo late in his career and he came back to AA.

Yes, very noticeably absent. Is that you?

He outlasted his opponent.....i think i had a kitten during OT

Opponent was getting tired in the first period. His only offense was a front headlock with the arm, which he didn't do much with other than tie Collucci up. I figured it was going to be a match decided by the better conditioned wrestler, and that was Collucci from the get go.

17-0 Foley, Why choose down when he rag dolled you in 2nd?

Goody threw his hands up in the air and walked away when Metzler chose down.. it was a classic WTF moment that most in the stands agreed with.

Glasgow looking healthier today

We need more wrestlers like Glasgow. Strong, quick, aggressive, agile, etc. He is going to be fun to watch going forward. And no knee brace last night.

174- Grello just out muscled and ridden for the entire match, loses 4-3.
RU up 22-14

He sure was. He lacked NO movement from the whistle on the bottom starts until the final half minute and then he was able to create some chances. The coaches were all over him for basically bracing himself on his hands and knees for most of the match.

In his presser, Goodale said Gravina was 50/50 for next week, although he didn't say it with the greatest conviction.

It's probably 50/50 now because of desperation. Otherwise my guess would be a lesser chance of him wrestling next week.

My contact said Nick was medically cleared today but they decided to wait til next week for him to give it a go again ...total warrior that kid is

Does anyone have an idea what happened? Was it his typical dislocation or worse? And yes, total warrior is right. His shoulder issues seem more regular than my bowel patterns.

Found the comment “There won’t be no match of the century type stuff” regarding the upcoming Kolodzik match very revealing.
Does that mean no matchup, or lesson learned from earlier this season with Nick?

Come on Billy... I don’t think Goodale was comfortable with how that Fix match got pumped up. The guy knows how to get his point across.

Agree about Janzer.

They will wrestle. It just won't won't get the nutso hype that Suriano-Fix got.

Make no mistake, if/when Ash and Kolodzik wrestle next week, there will be a lot of eyes on that 1 vs. 2 matchup and possible NCAA finals preview.

I’m actually more pumped for this match than the Fix match and I won’t be able to go!!! All good, my boy Jon will keep my floor seats warm.

I think Glasgow did have a brace on.There was a sleeve on the brace with a knee pad.
I still think he is a lot quicker than that. There should be more lateral movement from side to side with him.Better leg defense and finishing quicker as he lacks the ability to scramble.I think he is leaving points on board. Maybe be in a couple of weeks with full strength down the stretch Glasgow will have a better feel with full workouts.

I think he has more in the tank as well. As far as scrambling goes, even after the surgery, he has done some pretty impressive things to get out of situations (primarily on his feet) and get points. I think his scrambling abilities are among the best on the team...even at this time.

I can't wait to see this match in person.Ash has to keep the momentum going throughout the season regardless of the outcome.

There will be a matchup for sure. These guys have wrestled 4 times and are 2-2 with Ashnault winning the last matchup at nationals 2 years ago.

Unfortunately, I have to coach a tournament that Sunday so I’m going to miss it
NJGSWL? Me too. Boo...

Is Princeton going to be favored against us?
With the injuries at 184, it will be difficult.
If Scott and Gravina are injured, I hope they dont wrestle.
Save them for the B10 tourney if they are healthy.

with Gravina in the lineup Wreslestat shows RU winning 20-13.

with Oliveri wrestling, it shows a tie at 17.

Running Team Score:
Princeton 17 | Rutgers 17

for some reason when I copy and past it with Oliveri, it reverts back to Gravina 184. Not sure why.

IMO, even with Gravina in the lineup, he's obviously not anywhere close to 100 percent, like the wrestlestat algorithm probably accounts for or assumes.

Obviously this will be a very tight match, depending on the toss up matches and bonus points. 149 Ashnault vs Kolodzik could decide it. I wonder if they make this match the finale. I kind of doubt it after hearing Coach Goodales post MSU presser.
141 , 157, 165, 174 all toss ups.

I'll do a much deeper dive later in the week. I'm sure some of you are on pins and needles, lol

Read it again ..it says exact same score and doesn’t even say oliveri

With Gravina at 184:
"WrestleStat Prediction:
Nicholas Gravina over Kevin Parker DEC 9 - 5
Running Team Score:
Rutgers 17 | Princeton 10
Final:
Rutgers over Princeton 20 - 13"

With Oliveri at 184:
"WrestleStat Prediction:
Kevin Parker over Anthony Oliveri MD 13 - 4
Running Team Score:
Rutgers 14 | Princeton 14
Final:
Rutgers tied with Princeton 17 - 17"

I copied and pasted the summary score.w Oliveri at 184.
If you copy and past the link itself w Oliveri at 184, it auto reverts back to Gravina at 184 upon pasting., no idea why it does that.

Most matches will be close except 125 and 133. I don’t think we beat them without AA winning
