It's amazing how tolerable it is listening to him when we aren't a terrible football team.
Maybe he was actually just.... honestly assessing the team.

When he spoke of how well RU was keeping its TE reception talent going my monocle fell in my soup.
Matt was mailing it in
RU = tight end U according to Millen 😂
I always like Matt and appreciate him doing games. You guys are a tough crowd we all have off moments 😃

He’s really bad as an announcer, has been for years. He should just go away and retire. I was shocked when I saw he was still there at the start. You guys are a tough crowd we all have off moments 😃
Yeah the issue isn't about how much he praises or bashes Rutgers, it's that he just sucks at his job. He sometimes can't even be arsed to know the names of the players, saying things like "great play by the cornerback," and the one time he couldn't even remember that Rutgers is the Scarlet Knights. He’s really bad as an announcer, has been for years. Well-played, sir.I’ll give him a break, he was probably having trouble adjusting to having Hatcher on the crew. Remember, she didn’t play football.
I've never had a single problem with Millen. Every game I've watched for the past four years at least he has seemed to go out of his way to be fair to the program. I never really understood the hate.
Same.I've never had a single problem with Millen. Every game I've watched for the past four years at least he has seemed to go out of his way to be fair to the program. I never really understood the hate.
Agreed. I don’t know what people are looking for. He actually watches the game including line play and has insightful comments. It doesn’t matter to me that he doesn’t have our roster memorized. What matters is whether he’s noticing things that I may have otherwise missed.
He's just a hard listen for me. "He looks good below the waist" - uh what?I've never had a single problem with Millen. Every game I've watched for the past four years at least he has seemed to go out of his way to be fair to the program. I never really understood the hate.
How could I forget about this lolWithout Millen, we would never have the cock nose...which is an all time classic.
Weird, right? I tried to figure out how Millen got that idea.. I wondered if he ever played against Battaglia here... nope.. Millen drafted in 1980, Marco in 1996. So their paths didn't cross on the field. We played PSU in 77 78 and 79.. all PS wins.. one somewhat close at 26-10 but no real TE stats for those seasons stood out.. Someone named George Carter seemed to be the prime target but less than 20 receptions every season.RU = tight end U according to Millen 😂
That's where the cock nose is..He's just a hard listen for me. "He looks good below the waist" - uh what?
Always liked Millen. Knowledgeable & fair.To Matt's credit, he was on the Pacheco bus long before the rest of the media.
I agree but how hard is that to do? I do it all of the time in Hoops too.He was about as nice as anyone could possibly be as to how much of an upgrade AK is over GW and ES from last season, without being overly mean towards those two who are just college kids. That does take some skill to do it as nicely as he did it.
Several things on Millen:
1) He has improved as an announcer, in general - and he spends a lot of time looking at OL and DL line play, which is appreciated, since most fans have trouble even knowing what to look for in that area.
2) He is a hopelessly over-the-top PSU fan when he is announcing one of their games.
3) He IS a fan of Schiano, generally, which helps when Schiano is the coach of RU.
4) The TE comment was ... well, ridiculous, of course ... a real brain fart by him. If anything, RU is DB U ... I think more RU players that were DB's made it to the NFL, and had real careers. Secondarily, maybe OL.
Most really remember our DB’s and OL if you go back a decade.I'd say secondarily RB.
