During Prolific Prep's game against Veritas yesterday (11/22) Mawot Mag took a hard elbow to the face while drawing a charge and had to leave the floor/gym. He was one of 3 Prolific Prep players who were injured to the extent that they'll miss some games.

The Prolific Prep Facebook page lists the 3 injuries as 3 teeth knocked out and possible concussion, another injury that required 6 stitches, and lastly an ankle injury. Mawot's injury probably involved the teeth and possible concussion, although it could've been the 6 stitches. Best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery to him.

(Just in case anyone isn't aware and wants to watch Mag's recent games in their entirety, Prolific Prep's recent games have been streamed in their entirety on youtube. The injury occurs around an hour into the video of the Veritas game. He's number 3 for Prolific Prep, wearing pink shoes.)

Thanks, watched until he got hurt.

Bouncy athlete with a good motor from what I saw.

Coach subs a lot. The “stars” dominate the ball, look for their shot most of the time.

Mawot went in for a layup, missed it but went back up quickly to tap it in. First one up on the second jump.

had a drive where he tried to stop, either slipped or leg buckled, went down for a walk. Got up flexing his leg a bit. Came out and sat for the rest of the half.

started second half, hit a three with a high arc.

then the charge happened where he got hurt, refs were saying tooth was knocked out.

It would be nice to post a link when referencing to an article or video.

I didn't know if a direct link like that was permitted, since it occasionally hasn't been in other forums I've posted in, for one reason or another. I also felt that a simple youtube search for Prolific Prep or Prolific Prep basketball would be pretty quick and easy, and had the advantage of providing a list of all recent Prolific Prep game streams in case anyone wanted to watch Mag's other games. Sorry.

The Duel in the Desert championship game today (11/23) between Prolific Prep and Dream City Christian had a pretty dramatic ending... Although Mag didn't dress for the game due to the injury, he was on the bench watching and cheering.

Thanks for the link. Mag looks like he is a kid that does not mind doing the little things and dirty work. Though not the tallest guy on Prolific, he was guarding the opposing teams biggest player and cutting off the lane, setting the screens and playing unselfish. Hit the only 3 that he took. I can see why Pike likes the kid. I would probably rather have the Illinois recruit (big kid with some handle), but I like Mag.

Generally speaking posting a direct link to a YouTube page won't be frowned upon on any message board on the Rivals Network.

I believe that Flyin to the Hoop is held in Dayton, OH. So if any of you live near there...

Mag was back last night. Highlights:

#3 in black.

3:22 - Baseline drive for a layup
6:22 - Contests a fallaway jumper (missed)
6:38 - Catches pass underneath, gets layup blocked, stays with it and puts it back up and in
7:04 - Commits foul on a breakaway dunk
10:00 - Gets caught ball-watching and his guy goes for a backdoor cut and scores

Aside from that last lapse he wasn't really getting scored on that I saw.

Prolific plays tomorrow at 5:45 on ESPN3 (which I think means you can watch online with your cable login, no extra $)

Per Zags: Rutgers has a nice piece in Mag. He’s very active around the basket.

With recent positive press on Reiber and Palmquist practicing with the team, the sky is the limit with this team

And if Cliff comes.......

Mawot Mag is a solid player. Coleman Hawkins is really good, too. Another Pike find that recruiting blew up and committed to Illini. Pike is such a good talent evaluator.

So we lose Yeboah and Carter and get three guys around 6'8 230 and some skills to replace them. Sounds good--reinforcements coming even in the event Omoruyi goes elsewhere. Long as he doesn't go to South Orange CC.

Is this hoops or MMA?

When I was at practice Oskar was there on the sidelines. Maybe he cannot begin practicing with the team until classes start tomorrow. I hope to attend practice again on Friday.

Thanks for keeping us posted on that. I hope he gets to practice with the team. Would be a huge benefit to his game and to us next season.

Thanks. Mag looked good and praise for Pike.

Mawot doesn’t really get the ball much because they have a couple of jocks that take most of the shots but he plays plenty for a stacked squad. Pike and staff will develop him in a system that is not star driven and plays team ball. He looks like he has the ability to blossom in our program.
