McConnell and Hyatt were having a pretty heated exchange almost the whole alma mater post game.

Players tried to cool them both off multiple times and Pikiell had to walk over and grab McConnell to keep him away.

No idea what it was about but not the type of exchange I was happy seeing right in front of the departing crowd. Need better from McConnell there if he’s our “leader”.

I turned off my recording as soon as we lost so I didn't see anything, if it was even shown on TV. One possibility: Hyatt got the ball late from deep and passed on the shot, instead dribbling into a worse shot. Maybe Caleb was frustrated about the loss (of course he was), and lashed out about that play? Not justifying this at all, it's just a theory of what might have caused the exchange.

These are our senior leaders. While that's going on Paul is squatting behind the team (team lined up for alma mater) with his head down....LOOK AT ME, I"M ALL HEARTBROKEN. Our leaders let us down today big time....and they looked like fools after the game. Better get their act together fast.

Oh, was Paul's demeanor not exactly to your liking? Who ****ing cares?

Well Caleb stunk tonight so he should probably stfu.
They BOTH stunk it up.

Hyatt on both sides, McConnel on O. SHU thugged it up (don't take that as racist, I just cannot think of a better word) and we played SOFT.

Every Rutgers player made big-time mistakes on offense.. repeatedly. It was crazy bad.

vs OSU we deserved a win.. but tonight? We deserved to lose but are so much better than SHU we nearly pulled it out. And that makes it WORSE.

@ Fluexotine - Yes it was not to my liking. I ***ing care. Paul should be leading this team, not crying like a little ###ch. We didn't lose on a buzzer beater or a bad call by the refs. We lost because we played like a bunch of girls. And then he does that after??? He needs to man up...and apparently you do too.

I'm sure emotions super high, and that this was a very frustrating loss. Something tells me the fanbase is not the only group driven nuts by Hyatt. And McConnell challenging him is leadership - maybe not in the right place, but that's what leaders do. They tell people when they are screwing up, and sometimes those conversations don't go so well.

I care. Send the right message to your teammates, fans, and recruits at the game. I just hope they don't spin off into a slide over this. The Big Ten season is all that matters now and they are a very good team who played very poorly today. Don't cry.. be resolved to fix what's wrong. We know they can play well.. we have seen it.

You're an idiot. You can't even figure out how to tag me correctly ffs.

This is typical of what happens on every basketball team across the country. I had some baffling fans post on here for 2 years straight about the "lax leadership or something with Geo and RHJ ".....so now we see some of that buffer now removed from the equation and new roles and people are being elevated. It shows that both players are animated which is fine.

Now we get to find out what the roster and staff is made of. Are they going to make the tough decisions like 2 years ago that needed to be made?? Hyatt and Caleb are starters to me, but that's my opinion on the roster and the need for scoring and rebounding/balance.

zzzz

Can't wait for people to manufacture some locker room drama if the team starts to lose. Well Paul twitched his eye at cam with 17:04 left in the second half etc etc

The offense was embarrassing. No one wanted to step up

Hyatt blew a wide open layup with under a minute against Miami and misses a 3 footer tonight. Bac to bac chokes in the clutch

Also bac to bac out of bounds screw jobs
Truly unbelievable
He rushes his follow-up shots.. the opportunity shots.. it seems to be pretty common within the team but he has done it multiple times. Just float one up ASAP instead of shooting it.. or passing it.

SO.. MANY.. UNFORCED ERRORS.. by so many of our players. They are soo much better than this.

Anyone have any insight why Caleb was pulled 2 minutes in to the 2nd half. I found that puzzling and wondered why. There was a reason, but don't know what that reason was.

You’re super tough.

Hyatt's ending was tough for an otherwise good night. His scoring and rebounding and other stats suggested he should have been playing more minutes. Same for Mag. Only two guys scoring (6 for 12 & 4/7) yet Pike didn't see this or it wasn't his plan. He stuck with the 4 guys 6 for 25.

Caleb had the shot and he passed on it for a fade away.

Him and Ndefo were really going back and forth chirping at each other. I think Pike took him out to refocus him on just playing the game and not getting caught up in the BS (which was obviously part of the Hall's game plan).

I'm also shocked nothing happened between both teams postgame. Seton Hall was on our side of half court talking sh*t with the trophy during the playing of the alma mater. I'm sure some of our guys were fuming at that (I know I was).

Easy fix for that. Don't let them hold the trophy and talk shit! Win the game

Our 1st basket after the play Paul motioned over to the SHU bench.

I think there had to be a lot of talking. SHU was the decent size underdog so i am going to say it didnt hurt them.

You can argue and be pissed off at your teammate or teammates for a plethora of reasons.
Doesn’t mean a thing, it’s in the heat of battle…seen it numerous times, even fights
Yep had some knock downs with some of my best teammates. Very raw emotions...

Anyone notice that Mulcahy didn't shake hands with Shaheen after the game despite Sha extending his hand for a handshake? PM getting ripped on the SH site. I didn't watch it on my way out of the arena.

It looked like he did shake his hand but blew off any talk that he wanted w him. I could be wrong though. But Paul drives me nuts. He's a pest to the other team but then cries like a baby when it's thrown back at him. He can outplay so many but then pulls that crap..and those bone head passes

Players on this team are getting a realty check that most of the easy games are over. The lack of scoring is the reason for three losses so far .There is no margin for error because defense can only keep games close. The games of Baker and Harper making shots at crunch time are over.To date the only go to scorer I have seen was Simpson against Indiana.
