After a one year hiatus when in '21 the team's 6th Place finish was led by Xavier Marcoux's 14th place and Weston Jones' 15th place finishes, Rutgers returns to play in the tourney hosted by the evil empire, Notre Dame.

This year's 54 hole event is headlined by #5 ranked Tennessee. Other participants in the 14 team field currently ranked in today's Sagarin Top 50 are #26 Purdue and #49 Louisville. Rutgers is currently #70. This time of year rankings can change drastically week to week but from what I've read, the Vols are the real deal and contender for the National Championship. Other than Sagarin, the other ranking sites usually wait till some time around the 2nd week of October. Other B1G teams scheduled to compete are Northwestern, Indiana, Michigan St., and Iowa.

Rutgers will likely send out the 5 who have played the first 2 tourneys in Luke Wells who individually finished T5 last time out, Rhett Sellers, Xavier Marcoux, Martin Leon, and Weston Jones.

After shooting a +9 and +8 the first two rounds, Rutgers stands 11th of 14 teams. Rutgers is led by Xavier Marcoux who is Even Par, good for T10. After that are Weston Jones +4 (T37), Luke Wells +5 (T43), Rhett Sellers +9 (T63) and Martin Leon +23 (T76). There is 4 strokes between 9th and 13th so there is an opportunity to move up or move down. Rutgers will be paired with Louisville and Utah (Leon's former school) tomorrow at 9:30

Led by the trio of Rhett Sellers, Weston Jones, and Luke Wells shooting identical 1 Under Par 69's, Rutgers made a big jump from 11th to 6th in the final round. Xavier Marcoux contributed a +1, 71 for a team 2 Under 278. Martin Leon shot 74. The 2 Under was in a 3 way for the 3rd best round of the day. #5 Tennessee ran away with the tourney after a team final round of -10.

By virtue of a final round of 8 Under 62, which allowed him to pass 9 other golfers the individual championship was won by Northwestern's Ethan Tseng. Louisville's Sebastian Moss, who was looking for his 3rd consecutive victory to start the Fall Season, finished T9.

Jeesh

Yeah but his score isn't counted. He can still help the team with a good round tomorrow.

He was a highly ranked Am when he entered Utah and had a couple good outings as a Frosh. He played in the NCAA's but not much since. I wonder if the staff were looking to strike lightning in the bottle like they did with Noah Kumar who was a transfer last season.

I know not much but as a casual observer a +18 seems terrible for a college golfer
