Haven't listened to him or sports radio in general in 5/6 months, since the NFL season ended. Been listening to 101.5 mostly. Most of what Francesa said about RU is on. He said we'd get killed in the Big Ten and guess what, against the Big Boys (OSU, MSU,WI,NEB) we got killed. Those games were essentially over at half time. I did think I heard him compliment RU after the season, saying something to the effect they did better than he thought they would.

Has Fox Sports 1 and 2 dropped him? I haven't seen his simulcast in a long time. I know he has complained about always getting bumped for soccer or NASCAR, so maybe they told him to hit the road? He once did say, after his argument with the YES Network, that he made a mistake not listening to other local stations and hinted that MSG or SNY would have been a better bet.

First of all, in order to do that, he would have to recognize the teams existence, which he would prefer not to do.

The bad blood goes back to 2006 when after bad mouthing Rutgers for about 2 months consecutively he and Dog did their show from the RU tail gate lots the day of the Louisville game. RU students returned the disrespect he had shown for months and he has never forgiven them.

Haven't listened to him and all the Met fan calls (despite the fact he's a Yankee fan) and horse racing talk for years. Used to shake my head when the Giants would be in playoff contention in late November and he would lead off his show with "10 weeks 'till pitchers and catchers".

Rutgers wasn't expected to win a league game... won 3. Yes, they were hammered by the big boys, but so was newcomer Maryland. In the end Rutgers finished ahead of other "perceived big boys" PSU and Michigan... does that count for something?:)

Not a listener to his show at any point.....if I had to guess it began with Fran wanted to bust Carlins balls about RU, because CArlin was a RU homer....... It progressed from there and he kept up with it.... Now he won't back down in his opinions, and RU fans have given it back to him from time to time, putting him even more at odds

If Carlin was never associated with RU, or worked with Fran, fran would not have been so hostile... IMHO

He was partially right. Said the big ten big boys would destroy us which most of them did. But I assume Michigan and PSU fall into the big ten big boy category and neither destroyed us. He said Michigan would "hang 80" on us and we beat them outright. Lost by a FG to PSU. No excuses either way. We didn't make excuses that we were funded and run like a Patriot League program when PSU used to beat us down in the 80's and early 90's, we just lived with it. Well no one cares that Michigan and PSU were "down". We hung with both on the field. People need to live with it as well.

Bad blood also stems from the Don Imus comments about our lady bball players and Imus' subsequent firing which tarnished his career. Let's face it, like certain other New Yorkers, there is an insecurity about New Jersey. Perhaps due to New Jersey poaching jobs from NY over the decades or the better quality of life in the Garden State. And that's coming from someone who grew up on Long Island. I have not listened to Francessa in years. Partly because I have no interest in what he talks about and the poor manner in which he communicates, including his arrogance with callers.

Are you related to him or something? It's just sports talk radio which is generally the lowest form of Sports Information exchange. Why are his ratings so important to you? Radio Ratings are tabulated based on an outdated 65 year old Arbitron System (now Neilson) for hand made diary recordings 2-4 times a year and a silly portable people meter. WFAN has one of the strongest signals in the NY area which will extend the reach and boost the ratings for anyone on that show purely from an increased listener base standpoint.

Please enlighten us as to what he actually offers in the way of entertainment or sports knowledge that you find so intriguing? I found his show pretty boring when I finally stopped listening as the opinions and views that he presented had not generally changed over the past 20 years prior (in other words, he didn't bring anything new to the table to keep me listening). Further he was frequently is combative with educated listeners, instead choosing to have longer phone time with homers or not very knowledgeable fans...........which is not an enjoyable listen for me.

I can stream Radio stations across the country through my phone and that's not even including Apps like Slacker, Spotify etc which have endless amounts of Free Music and Talk, including numerous sports talk options. Why would I limit myself to a guy who was a dinosaur when I last listened 5 years ago just because his ratings are high due to an outdated Rating System and Listener base that is likely too lazy to change their presets or too stuck in the mud to get with new technologies.
