I meant to start this before the season started, but you know how that goes. So I'll include information about where people started.

Points

Kahleah started the year with 1,271 points, just ahead of Essence and in 21st place. She has scored 120 points in 7 games, for a total of 1,391. She's passed Lorrie Lawrence (1,272), Patti Sikorski (1,284), Khadijah (1,288), Kia (1,329), Tomora Young (1,344) and Shawnetta (1,346), and now sits in 15th place all time. Next up are Betnijah at 1,401, Liz Hanson at 1,413, Kathy Glutz at 1,415 and Tasha at 1,456.

Tyler started the year with 1,025 points, which put her in 35th all time. She now has 1,108 points. She's passed Erica Wheeler (1,027), Kristen Foley (1,051), Michelle Campbell (1,054), Patty Delhanty (1,077), Denise Kenney (1,103) and Jennie Hall (1,104) to leap to 29th place. Next up are Brittany Ray (1,142), April Sykes (1,162), Mo Oliver (1,204), and Patty Coyle (1,209).

Nobody was in the top 15 at the end of 2015. Number 15 is Tammy Sutton-Brown with 685. The closest player is Kahleah, currently at 545

Blocks

Rachel started the year with 220, 5th all time. She now has 234. She needs 11 to tie Tanya Hansen for 4th at 245, 14 to tie La Tonya Johnson for 3rd at 248 and 45 to tie Kia Vaughn at 279. The all time record is 293, held by none other than Sue Wicks.

Assists

Nobody was in the top 10 at the end of 2015. Number 10 is Patty Coyle with 394. The closest player is Briyona, who has 305 right now.

Steals

Nobody was in the top 10 at the end of 2015. Tenth is shared by Cappie and C'ta Mitchelson, with 213. The closest player is Briyona again, with 145 as of today.

Free Throws Attempted

Kahleah started the season with 421, 20 behind June Olkowski for 10th place. She now has 460, which puts her in 10th. Next up are Piph, who had 466 attempts, TSB, who had 494 and Tanya Hansen, who had 501.

Free Throws Made

Kahleah started the season with 299, 13 shy of Matee for 10th place. She now has 323, which puts her in 9th, ahead of Matee and Tanya Hansen, who had 318. Next up on the list are Regina Howard at 335, Liz Hanson at 356 and Tasha at 357.

Games Played

Nobody is on the top 10 list, not that you'd expect that at the beginning of the year. There's an 8-way tie for 8th place overall at 129 games - Syessence, Betnijah, Ra, Patty Coyle, Patty Delehanty, Tasha, Michelle and April. After that, there's a 3-way tie for 5th with 130 games. Briyona (107 games), Kahleah (104 games) and Rachel (102 games) all have a shot at getting into the top 10.

And coaching:

C. Vivian Stringer started the season with 952 wins, 4th on the all-time list, 9 behind Sylvia Hatchell, who ended the year with 961 and 1 behind Tara VanDerveer. She needed 146 wins to tie Pat Summitt, who had 1,098. As of now, she and VanDerveer are tied with 957 wins and Hatchell has 965, so she's tied for 3rd and 8 behind 2nd place.

She started the year with 432 wins at Rutgers, 2 short of the record held byTheresa Grentz. She now has 437, 3 more than Grentz.

She has 182 Big Ten wins, and is 6 ahead of Rene Portland atop the all time list. That number won't change for a while.

I hadn't realized that there were two other coaches ahead of CVS. I thought she was second behind Summit. I was just out in the Bay area this past week and heard that Tara Vanderveer will likely retire at the end of this season. If true, she probably won't reach 1000 wins. And isn't UNC having a relatively poor year? And haven't we been hearing that the NCAA will lower the hatchet on Hatchell and her program as a sop being thrown to the pro-punitive elements while protecting men's bball and football? So she may not be around next year either. Perhaps CVS will actually be in second place all by herself by season's end. How far back is Geno?

Geno can't catch CVS this year, and if memory serves, can't catch her next year, either (but don't quote me on that part).

I am very sorry that Hatchell had health problems during the 2013-2014 (?) season; however, I do not understand how in the world she was credited with coaching wins when she was not on the sideline. Even the UNC press at the time indicated there was an acting HC (an assistant).

I'm totally with you on this. I think it makes no sense. She was not participating at all (let alone on the sideline) for pretty much the whole season.

Well, "for a while" is now upon us and CVS stands at 183 B1G wins, lengthening her lead over the second place coach, who I assume is still Portland, since no one else played a conference game till today either.

Thanks for doing this. It must take a lot of time but for the old-timers like me, it's always fun to see some of the names from the earlier days of RU women's bball.

Happy New Year everyone!

.

You have Tyler trailing Kahleah by only 31 points but Kahleah has advanced past the 1271 you have listed for her at the start of the season.

I actually was thinking about how I needed to check on that when I was doing the update, but obviously forgot. I'll fix it now.

Barring injuries, it does seem like Sue Wicks' block record may fall to Rachel.

BeKnighted, thank you again for doing all this work. Where do you project Copper ends her career on the points list. Does she have a chance at top 5?

I feel like she will be one of the most under-radar high scorers in RU WCBB history.

If she keeps scoring at her current pace, she projects into the top 5. Cappie and Sue are out of reach, but nobody else is.

You didn't ask about this, but Tyler projects to finish the season right around 10th all time, and actually could have a shot to top Cappie.

Adding my appreciation for this effort to the others--I enjoy reading the names as players climb the list. Mental comparisons. I agree that Copper seems under the radar, as it were. However, we should recall that she is on two(?) watch lists for this season. I expect her to be drafted by a WNBA team. Hollivay is tougher to predict. She has been referred to as a potential all-timer at Rutgers, or words along those lines. That is Kia Vaughn and Sue Wicks company. It seems like she is not on the floor enough (without looking at minutes) to register as such. If she owns the B1G centers during conference play this year, then I predict she will be drafted. She has to be first team All-B1G, perhaps second team, though.

Diana bumps and an update follows. ;-)

Rachel had 290 at the last update, which put her 3 behind Sue Wicks for the all time record. She's blown past that and now has 305. That puts her in 3rd all time for men and women, just ahead of James Bailey, who had 304. 2nd among theme is Roy Hinson at 355 and 1st among the men is Hamady Ndiaye, with 358.

For perspective on Rachel's achievement, this is only the 2nd of Sue's career records that's ever been broken. (The other one was steals, where she's now 3rd.) Sue still holds the RU career records for points (men or women), scoring average, rebounds (men or women), rebounding average, field goals made (men or women), field goals attempted (men or women), free throws made and free throws attempted. For good measure, she also holds the records for most points in a game, most points in a half, most blocked shots in a game, most field goals in a game, and most field goal attempts in a game.

Assists

Briyona has 392 assists. That leaves her 2 short of tenth on the all time list, the spot held by Patty Coyle. Syessence is in 9th with 397, then it's a big leap to Kristen Foley in 8th with 455.

Steals

Tenth on the all-time steals list is shared by Cappie and C'ta Mitchelson, with 213. The closest player is Briyona again, with 176.

Free Throws Attempted

Kahleah was in 7th with 520 after the last update and now has 527. Next up are Tasha Pointer and Regina Howard at 531, followed by Cappie at 539, Vicky Picott at 542, and Khadijah at 554. Sue Wicks is in 1st all time with 641.

Free Throws Made

Kahleah had 362 at the last update, which put her at 6th all time. She now has 368, and has passed Piph (367) to move into 6th. She needs 10 to tie Vicky Picott for 4th (378), 11 to tie Khadijah for 3rd (379), and 59 to tie Cappie for 2nd (427).

Games Played

We're beginning to get close to the point where these records are coming into play. There's an 8-way tie for 8th place overall at 129 games - Syessence, Betnijah, Ra, Patty Coyle, Patty Delehanty, Tasha, Michelle and April. After that, there's a 3-way tie for 5th with 130 games. Briyona's up to 126 games, Kahleah is up to 124 games and Rachel is up to 121 games.

She now has 967, 4th all time, 5 behind Tara VanDerveer for 3rd all time and 7 behind Sylvia Hatchell for 2nd all time.

She started the year with 432 wins at Rutgers, 2 short of the record held by Theresa Grentz. She now has 447, 13 more than Grentz.

She has 187 Big Ten wins, and is 11 ahead of Rene Portland atop the all time list. The next active coach on the list Lisa Bluder of Iowa, who started the year at 152 and now has 157.

Bump - a reminder to BeK for the weekend. Just anticipating that Tyler could easily wind up #2 All Time next year. Cappie is currently 2nd with 2211. Sue is probably out of reach.

Finally, another update:

Points

Kahleah had 1,697 points at the last update, which put her in 7th place all time. Now she has 1,832, which puts her in 3rd all time. She has passed Caroline DeRoose at 1,762, Telicher Austin at 1,789, Vickie Picott at 1,792, and Regina Howard at 1,807. Cappie is in 2nd all time with 2,211, which I think everyone would agree is out of reach.

Tyler had 1,458 points at the last update, good for 12th all time. She now has 1,589 points, and has moved past June Olkowski at 1,500 and Piph at 1,552 into 10th. Matee is next at 1,622, followed by Tanya Hansen at 1,682 and Caroline DeRoose at 1,762.

Rebounds

Last time around, Kahleah had 699 rebounds, good for 15th all time. She now has 755, passing Janell Williams (700), Essence (707), LaTonya Johnson (745) and Linda Miles (751) to move into 11th. Next up are C'ta Mitchelson at 764 and June Olkowski at 780.

Blocks

Rachel had 305 at the last update, best all time for an RU woman, and 3rd all time for men or women. She now has 328, and needs 27 to tie Roy Hinson (my era!) for 2nd and 30 to tie Hamady Ndiaye for 1st for men or women.

Assists

Briyona has 432 assists, which puts her in 9th. She's passed Patty Coyle (394) and Syessence (397). Kristen Foley is up next at 455.

Steals

Tenth on the all-time steals list is shared by Cappie and C'ta Mitchelson, with 213. The closest player is Briyona again, with 192.

Free Throws Attempted

Kahleah was in 7th with 527 after the last update. She now has 536, which means she's passed Tasha Pointer and Regina Howard (both at 531) to move into 5th. Next up are Cappie at 539, Vicky Picott at 542, and Khadijah at 554. Sue Wicks is in 1st all time with 641.

Free Throws Made

Kahleah had 368 at the last update, which put her at 5th all time. She now has 375. She needs 3 to tie Vicky Picott for 4th (378), 4 to tie Khadijah for 3rd (379), and 52 to tie Cappie for 2nd (427).

Games Played

Okay, after waiting all year, we've finally got movement on the games played list.

Rachel has 128, which puts her just one game out of a 9-way tie for 10th place with Syessence, Betnijah, Ra, Patty Coyle, Patty Delehanty, Tasha, Michelle and April.

Kahleah has 131, which puts her in 5th, ahead of the pile-up at 129 game and ahead of a 3-way tie with 130 games (Linda Miles, Tammy Sutton-Brown, and Rashidat Junaid).

And Briyona has 133, ahead of the pile-up, the 3-way tie and Matee at 132, and now tied with Essence for 3rd. She needs two more games to tie Khadijah Rushdan and Kia for 1st at 135.

She now has 970, 4th all time, 7 behind Tara VanDerveer for 2nd all time and 5 behind Sylvia Hatchell for 3rd all time.

She started the year with 432 wins at Rutgers, 2 short of the record held by Theresa Grentz. She now has 450, 16 more than Grentz.

She has 190 Big Ten wins, and is 14 ahead of Rene Portland atop the all time list. The next active coach on the list Lisa Bluder of Iowa, who started the year at 152 and now has 160.

Thank you! Looks like Tyler has a very decent shot at finishing 2nd all time in scoring. She is currently 622 points behind Cappie. With a couple more games this year (6 would be great!), she should be somewhere lest than 600 points away. A 20 point average next year is not unrealistic.

Tyler has 564 points so far this year, so if she duplicated that next year, she'd be at 2,153, just 58 behind Cappie for 2nd, and only the 3rd 2,000 point scorer in RU history. If she gets a decent number of additional games at the WNIT this year and the NCAAs next year, she would be in good position to end up 2nd all time. (But it's worth noting that Cappie missed about ten games in 2005, since she didn't play the first semester.)

Tyler also has a shot to end up with the most games played all time. She's over 100 already.

Well, I'd hoped to wait a while for this, but here's the year-end update.

Points

Career

Kahleah had 1,832 points at the last update, which put her in 3rd all time. She ends her career with 1,872, still 3rd.

At the last update, Tyler had 1,589 points, which put her in 10th all time. She ended the season with 1,611, still in 10th, just 11 points behind Matee. She scored 586 points this year. If she does the same next year, she'll end up with 2,197, 14 points behind Cappie for 2nd and, uh, 458 points behind Sue Wicks at 2,655.

Single Season

Kahleah had 601 points. That edges out Cappie's 2003-4 season for 10th place all time.
Tyler 586.

Rebounds

At the last update, Kahleah had 755, which put her in 11th. She ends her career with 769, which slips her into the top 10, just ahead of C'ta Mitchelson.

Blocks

Career

Rachel had 328 at the last update, and collected 3 more to end her career at 331. This is first all time for RU women, 38 more than former record holder Sue Wicks, and 3rd all time among men and women.

Single Season

Rachel had 111 blocks, not that close to her single-season record of 127 in 2013-14, but still 14 more than the 97 Sue Wicks had 1986-87, and good for 2nd place on the single-season list. Rachel also has the 8th spot on the list, and she and Sue are the only players with three seasons on that list.

Assists

Briyona has 439 assists, and ends her career where she was at the end of the regular season, in 9th.

Steals

Briyona ended up with 196 steals, 17 short of tenth on the all-time list, which is shared by Cappie and C'ta Mitchelson, with 213.

Free Throws Attempted

Kahleah was in 5th with 536 after the last update. She ends her career with 559, passing Cappie at 539, Vicky Picott at 542, and Khadijah at 554 to move into 2nd all time. First all time with 641 is - no surprise - Sue Wicks.

Free Throws Made

Kahleah had 375 last week, fifth all time. She hit14 in the WNIT, passing Vicky Picott 4th (378) and Khadijah (379) to finish her career with 389 and 3rd place all time. Cappie had 427 and Sue Wicks had 473.

Games Played

It seems best just to list the top 10 (actually 11, as you'll see).

7th: 130 games. Rachel, Linda Miles, Tammy Sutton-Brown, Rashidat Junaid, and Christa Evans

6th: 132 games. Matee

4th: 133 games. Kahleah and Essence

1st: 135 games. Briyona, Kia, and Khadijah

The people in the big scrum at 129 games no longer are in the top 10. Oh, well.

Looking forward, Tyler has 104 games. She could break the record, but obviously we won't know for quite a while.

She now has 971, 4th all time, 8 behind Tara VanDerveer for 2nd all time and 4 behind Sylvia Hatchell for 3rd all time.

She started the year with 432 wins at Rutgers, 2 short of the record held by Theresa Grentz. She now has 451, 17 more than Grentz.

She has 190 Big Ten wins, and is 14 ahead of Rene Portland atop the all time list. The next active coach on the list Lisa Bluder of Iowa, who started the year at 152 and now has 160
