Minnesota imploding

How can Minny have no more TOs? They were way ahead most of the game and took their last TO at 4:30 left.

By the way, Christie is an assassin — everything we thought we were getting from our freshman wing…

Garcia has been out since the 15 minute mark of the second half? Announcers did not seem to know if his injury precluded him to come back in. Seemed to take one between the legs.

Iowa with only 4 fouls this half with less than 3 minutes to play. Would be better for us if Minny would win this.

If Minny loses this, it could be as disastrous to their tourney hopes as was our loss … to Minny last year.

I thought it looked like Garcia was grabbing at his forearm or wrist on the injury, not anything below the waistline. It's odd. He has no real medical attention or ice on the bench.

Minnesota can get right in their next game if they lose. Oh, it's at Purdue? Huh.

Garcia is their best by a bunch. He averages 17+, 6.5 boards, almost 2 assists, just under one steal and block per game. He is essential to their team.

Never saw a guy attempt a 3 point shot, get it cleanly blocked and just stand there posing your follow through with the ball up for grabs. WTF

Minnesota with crushing loss and now head to Purdue. They could be a dead team when we see them soon

That's my thought. This deflating loss is likely followed by a Purdue beat down and they realize their NCAA chances are likely gone

Ty Berry was out. If he's out against RU too, that would be a huge loss for NW
He'll be out imo. He was on crutches today and Collins said no "announcement" yet. This is me reading tea leaves but it's almost like he's expecting to announce something significant/long-term

Sounds like out a few weeks per NW rivals site. Plus we have advantage of today's tape to see how they play without him.

"Berry, a senior, was injured in the first half of the Wildcats’ win over Nebraska on Wednesday night. Collins didn't have an update on Berry's status but sources told WildcatReport that the knee injury will sideline him for a minimum of a few weeks with more medical evaluation to come soon."

This does not help us escape day one of the Big Ten tournament (really our only chance at winning it). What a choke job. Minnesota couldnt make a shot after Garcia went down. And that number 21 is a worse free throw shooter than Myles. But watch, he'll go 8-8 at the line against us

Huge loss for them. He's an offensive efficiency superstar

Berry is shooting a ridiculous 43.3% from downtown this season, capped by a 48% clip in January. That January mark was good for the third best in college basketball for players who shot more than 50 threes. If you look at the advanced metrics, Berry’s impact becomes even more apparent. During his red-hot January, Northwestern ranked SECOND in the COUNTRY in adjusted offensive efficiency, behind only Zach Edey and Purdue. Berry’s own offensive rating was higher than the likes of RJ Davis, Caleb Love and even Boo Buie. Tennessee’s Dalton Knecht, who has a chance to be the first college basketball player selected in the 2024 NBA draft, was the only player with a higher offensive rating than Berry in January, and Knecht shoots threes at a similar clip.
